What do non twin tip skis look like and what are they? ive read from places that skiboards were popular untill the twin tip skis came. Are all the skis today twin-tip?
(i dunno much about these things)

no.

twin tip means bot end of the skis are turn upwards. so basically, twin tips make it a lot easier to ride backwards.

heres a back exaplination but hopefully ull get the point.

an analogy would be "standard" snowboards and carving/slalom/racing snowboards.

the first ones with nose and tail identical, both bent up (the 99% you see on slopes).
the second ones with only front bent up (normally, they are used with hard shell boots and both feets are forward oriented)

Roussel's got good sketches
