McShane

its a 120 foot gap... pro skiers and snowboarders have trouble with it.. a skiboarder hitting it would be absolute suicide

impossible, there isnt enough room for speed, i've seen skiers die because they get speed wobble just on the speed for the inrun, skiboards or a ski under 140 is impossible

someone fly me over to america and provide me with a snowmobile to tow me and i'll do it, no problem...
(just kidding by the way...but if you do want to fly me over to america feel free!)

While you're all considering the possibility...
Enjoy this thread and consider the risks...

chad's gap is impossible for everyone one earth but Candide Thovex...
Impossible for skiboarders of course... you'll never get enough speed on skiboards with this kind of backountry of backcountry "powdery" slopes...

i still deem it's possible, technically!!! not that i personally could do it with no blink, but there is no objective reasons why it should not be possible. physics allow it! ;)

loads well quite a few people have done chads gap, tanner hall just broke both his ankles trying to switch 1080 it, not sure what the truth behind the trick is but i know he did break his ankles, his out for 10 weerks. ho on newschoolers and type in chads gap under videos, you get like some kid front flipping it and stuff.

this picture is explosive on that website. I saw a lot of people start respecting the "bladers" from this pic... i hope this guy actually pulled it off because it really opens a new chance for skiboarders to take backcountry by storm. Some photos in ski and skiing magazine would be nice of us jumping some 100 ft cliffs.

like bailey and ben said..... its impossible, you need like 50mph speed to do that thing and its powdery, imagine doing that jump landing wrong with non release bindings.... ow.

here's what happens if you don't have enough speed.... doesn't look that dangerous. tanner must have been hitting it on a non powder day.

If you claim that 140 ski's could do it, I bet a skiboarder could pull it off. To quote the canon website in reference to their M7's, "With the surface area of a pair 165cm skis..." Now even if that's not 100% true, they still probably have at least the surface area of 150 skis. The extra width on skiboards gives more surface area, so a skiboarder could in theory make it. Also, even if they couldn't, as long as they try on a powder day the landing shouldn't be TOO harsh as proven by the clip of the snowboarders posted by Greco. I think if someone nuts enough wanted to that they could pull it off....so who's up for it? hehe

you'd punctured a lung and were stranded in oregon from jumping over 3 feet of rocks, and you want to jump the pyramid gap on skiboards?

and u will be live!!!
there is a lot of powder ..shiit..i saw those jumps in video...so, i think its possible!!

I SAY DO IT! SOMEBODY GO FOR IT WITH A PAIR OF SKIBOARDS AND COMPLETELY KILL SOME CLIFFS. I rather see someone huck a cliff, or clear a gap than grind a 20 ft rail or something. Cliffs are sick as hell.

i've done bungee-jumping from 150ft with dipping into the water, 40ft rope-jumping and some 35ft high-diving. (no parachuting yet) i think i could do the gap if i saw someone do it before me! safely...

non of you can do chads gap. you are all smoking rocks. i'm not trying to be a kill joy here, but no, non of you would even step to it if you were standing at the in run... travis rice and i think roman demarchi killed the shit out of that thing, i think one of them went 185 feet the first try. but you all have to realize that the people that have done this gap ride like 200 days a year. by all means go huck yourself at that thing video tape it for me and your family so they know how you lost your life.
