Hey everyone,
Just wen skiboarding this past weekend for the first time and am interested in buying gear. The skiboards I rented were Salomon 90cm...
Is this a good skiboard? Are there better alternatives for beginners?
Where can I purchase skiboard boots online?
Thanks for the recommendations!

Salomon skiboards are generally considered to be crap, which is true. Just about everything about them has severe problems, but espescially their cheap plastic bindings that can't really be replaced. The specific boards that will work best for you depends on ur height and weigh, but canon, line, and mix all make good boards imho. (although mix boards are sold out till next season). You can buy skiboard boots here on skiboardsonline.com, but I would reccomend at least going and trying boots on before you buy online because you want to make sure you get a good fit. I also must add that I'm glad to see that you actually call them by the right name, unlike most beginners who call skiboards "snowblades"

The SnowJam 90, Line Bullet, and Line Mike Nick Pro all look like great boards, are they good for starting out?

Oops....collision on the posting! :) The canons, lines, and mix do look very good.
Out of the ones that are left for this season and at the 90cm length, it looks like the following 2 are possibilities:
-Canon Heritage
-Snowjam 90
At the 90+ range:
-Line Nick Pro
-Line Bullet

Yeah, those are all good boards, and out of those I'd reccomend the MNP's. They're considered to be some of the best boards ever made. The others are not too bad either though. I used to ride some old canon heritage boards that were great.

First of all HI and welcome to the board and the wonderful sport of skiboarding.
Second, do to it being end of season and so many newbies entering the sport of skiboarding the supply of new skiboards is limited. And you have several options. All the boards you mentioned are definately good boards. like skafreak mentioned the MNP's are really good. You can buy them now or your other option would be to see what next season holds on the board market due to there being rumor of several prominate companies coming out with promising boards for instance loken industries, canon, and mix.
Third on the boots. Definately try on a boot somewhere before ordering it online. be sure that it feels comfortable to your foot. And also you can use a normal ski boot with the majority if not all of the skiboard bindings.
Fourthly you need to consider the type of binding you want to use. releasable or nonreleasable.
Fith be sure to get a helmot. better safe then sorry. i have seen and helped with kids who havent worn their helmets on the mountain and some of them have had serious effects to their brain.
Lastly dont give up. Sometimes it gets tiring to have people come and say what are those things or your such freak. or something like that. Ignore them. Do your best to show that the sport can and is something great and that we as riders are achieving and have achieved great goals.

If you want to wait till next year that would be a real smart idea because 3 companies are probably re-stocking the market with new boards. Canon, snowjam, and mix will all be probably making new boards for next year, but if there is a good board you really would love to ride this year (i recommend the bullet, or the snowjams) then go for it.
