hey folks, i'm a newbie here (although i've been wathcing you)
whats your experience with powder riding? or should i better stay in parks?
If you want to hit powder, go for it. Just lean back and go fast and you should be able to cruise over it. It might take a little work, but its pretty fun.
Some people will say skiboards aren't good for powder, I say screw that.
As kirk said, you've got to make sure to lean back, or else there's a good chance you'll get stuck and do a faceplant. Keep up your speed and it'll be lots of fun.

from experience i know that skiboards dont work in west coast powder.... we were up to our nipples, and we may as well been in shoes.... however on the east coast, if your going fast enough you should be able to cruise through anything from your knees and lower

ok, cool.
it pretty much reminds me 10 yrs or so ago when i (as a kid) was hitting powder on skis. the difference then was that i was way lighter and skis were ca. 130cm....
so, ok, i'll give it a try when i can

come on ben. i used to live in tahoe and i only skiboarded, so west coast powder is not a problem. i'll give you some lessons when we're in utah :D . but for now the most important one is: if there's powder you must ride where it's steep, very steep, so look for the most difficult terrain on the mountain and hit it, you'll have a blast.

I've always had trouble with powder on my Canon H7, but I just tried out the new Groove BG Pro and it's a whole lot better. Twice or 3 times I thought I was surely goign to wipe out but the BGPs saved the day. I used to dreaded powder but not any more.

It all depends on what you like. If you like getting air then go to terrian parks. You like just free riding and going off man made jumps then go for it. Think what you wana do. No one should make your decisions for you but yourself

it's not that i don't know what i want to do, but i'm thinking on going for heliboarding and naturally it is all about powder. i mean REAL powder (not 1 foot powder). i was concerned if it is worth it and i wouldn't find miself retard on skiboards...
