okay i need help on this....im doin a paper in my college class...
And im doin one on "Why skiboarding should be back into the x-games"... so i need everyones and i mean EVERYONES input on this..i tried to research the topic..and (thats how i came across the minenemies) but can not find shit..so y not go to the source!..

so far on my end it would be...that the x-games came from the under ground sports and skiboarding is diff. THE underground sport..just like skateboarding, bmx'ng, motocross and what not....

so now its ur turn..... thanx to everyone that contributes..

Jeff, calm down, it's just hard for people to back you when they don't agree with you. If you want to write a paper using your opinion you're gonna have to be able to back your own opinion. You can't have other people tell you what to think.

haha......its an arguementive paper...im not freak'n out..i was just doin research and shit..im not wanting ppl to think for me..i can of course do that on my own..so far i got my side..and now i was goin to the source for some more additional info...if i dont get any from here..i already for one already got enough for my 4 page paper..i was just seeing if i was leaving out anything

ok, i know i don't share majority's view here but i see no OBVIOUS reason why skiboarding should not be in xgames (and why core skiboarders should want it not to be). after all you all want to be treated with respect, don't you? you all want quality selection of boards to be available out there, don't you? and i do believe, it would come along as the awareness of skiboarding raises, as skiboarding is treated as "one of" the cool sports, etc. and it does not necessarily mean going mainstream!

if you don't want skiboarding becoming "popular" (or known-of), then please do not bitch about being humiliated and misunderstood! thats just the way the consumptive society and their mindset is built ;)

Jeff like u said the paper is an arguementive paper and you will have to portray more then one view. But the paper requires substantial evidence to support ur view. Start with what u feel is a negative and then go to a negative and a pro and end with a strong pro to why it should be ur view.

BTW you may feel strongly about this but you are going to need skiboarders to participate if it went back into the xgames and from the looks of it most of the skiboarders that post here arent even interested. Im not saying that its wrong you also have to look at where the end will get us. Yes it would be nice to gain more popularity but then it would also kind of kill the family friendly atmosphere of skiboarding. We dont want our sport turned into what snowboarding is now with a bunch of rude kids that arent helping anything.

I hope your paper turns out fine.

Like bailey says definately use spelling and grammer check before you hand ur paper in. Post it when your done too

If EXPN was putting skiboarding back into the event tomorrow and sent those same skiboarders (who claim they don't want it back in) an invite to compete they'd jump like a mongoose.

It sure seems that there is a lot of skiboarders out there who do it because they feel it's different, or cool because it's different and brings them attention. Obviously snowboarding is the "cool" thing to do these days, and skiboarding has taken the role of the "different, or unique" thing to do.

Get real.... no matter what you do it on, you are still sliding down a mountain and going up the same chair lifts as that guy who you want to be different or cooler than...

but of course that's just MY opinion here, and my weapon of choice just happens to be skiboards

if you can do what you love, then just keep doing it. if someone offers you something, e.g. 10g, for what you do, because s/he thinks you earn it - why refuse? it's not about that you'd do it with $ in yoru eyes, is just a nice fringe benefit. a pretty practical one, i would say ;)
