Thats not really a dumb question jeff. A lot of people use oil on the bottom of metal disc sleds and furniture polish on the bottoms of bodyboards and surfboards to make them go faster while riding. It works a little bit I suppose but wears off very quickly. I'm not sure if either of those you asked about would work on a skiboard though. Only because they don't have any sort of wax base to them. As i'm sure you know the wipe on waxes don't even stay on for more than a couple runs so something that has no wax base to it would get stripped by the snow very quickly. Or even just absorb into the base and that wouldnt be good. They might be good to keep them from drying out in the off season though. Then again that may prove to be a bad thing when having your boards rewaxed for next season.;) The best and oldest trick in the book is to just get one sided wax paper from the store and use an iron at very low temp and iron it on to the bases(wax side to the boards obviously). Wax paper uses almost the same wax as a ski shop. It's all carnuba wax.

jeff. in my thought it would come off too easy cause it will go on as a liquid and not make a thick layer... idk it wouldnt kill the bases if thats what you worried bout try it this season
