Okay So I thought shorter Ski boards would but fun but I'm not so sure. I want to use them for tricks but not just that. I'm looking at some 90cm but should I hold out for the 75cm or go longer? I really enjoy skiing down the mountain but I like doing tricks. At what length does it start to get more difficult to do such? I know it depends on the skill level of the person I just wanna hear some opinions. I'm pretty new at this so I want to hear some advice

There are a lot of factors involved, for one your size.

Depends on your balance skills? I got all sorts of boards from 56's to 99's. While SB's turn easier than long planks, SB's are harder to balance front and back. The longer the boards, the easier it is to balance front and back.
We can see this with the rail riders. A SB'er would take a fall if he just clipped the rail with his short boards. Whereas a long twin tipper has a lot more cushion for useable length with the long planks. And if they hit the rail off center, their tips or tails are already near the snow and providing support in short order.

Okay Thanks that made it a little clearer. I'm near 6 foot (around 180cm) so I definitely want longer boards now that I look at it. I have fairly good balance. I'm worried though if I get boards that is 90cm that it will be too short. What will happen if it is? Should I just go over 100cm to be safe? I like groomed runs and occasionally do powder but nothing super deep or thick. I do enjoy it though and I want to be able to do some powder once in a while.

Hello & welcome!!!!
Well, I have ridden most of these Revel 8 boards and the 3 boards I carry are the 98cm BWP's, 110 Alp's and 120 Spruce's. I enjoyed the 90cm Tansho's very muchso, they felt like an extension of my legs/feet.
But for everyday all around use and doing as you say tricks and groomed runs and some powder and at your height... the 110 Alp(DLP) hands down !!!!!! It's the perfect all around board and many here would agree... and others have there own opinions as well.
My all time favorite however is the 2007 98cm BWP, love it but there is a difference in stability, thus a little longer board is better and you really do not loose maneuverability. There is also the very popular 105cm Revolt..... Ya just can't go wrong with any of those boards for pure FUN on any run! The 98cm will be not so much fun int he powder though, thus the reason for the 120 Spruce! Just to throw it out there, the 101cm KTP.. a wider board full of life and great for any run and condition but made for a more aggressive rider IMO.
Have fun and let us know what you decide on.

+1 on the DLPs(ALP)! I'm 6' and 175lbs and this is my first season on skiboards coming off a snowboard. I've been mainly riding all mtn hitting mainly groomers and a little bit of (crappy aus) powder and they are great for that.
I'm currently on a week up the hill and have been mainly riding park with a reasonably newbie snowboarder mate and they are awesome! I'm not having any dramas with them in the park or on the groomers... In fact I think I could probably even go a touch longer for the groomers for a bit more speed (not that they are slouches).
And even though I've only ridden these, I suspect you should have no dramas with any r8 boards ;)

Thanks Everyone! It seems that Revel8 is the best options quality and performance. What is your opinion on snowjam? I've read quite a few reviews and they seem decent. I know they aren't as good quality as the revel8s. Are they worth the money or should I just go all the way and get some revel8s? I'm not super picky I just want something that works and isn't cheaply made.

SBOL sells them, so they are good. My brother has been riding the same Snowjams for quite some time now... about 6 seasons. They hold his lard butt up well! LOL! :o (I can say that since he's my awesome brother and wont be reading this). But the Snowjam is one of the sub 100cm sizes, if that's the size you want, nothing wrong Snowjams especially for just having fun on. Up to you!

SJ is OK. Just have to check the binding screws, they come loose. Loctite and still check em. Or get Bombers.

I am 179cm and used to riding on 99s, although I have been contemplating getting a long board. However, today I had to change down to 85s for some riding and although I managed it, the quality of riding was just not the same at all.

The Snowjam boards are quality, but very stiff, so you'll feel every little groove on the groomers. The Revel8s and Spruce boards have nice flexes that smooth things out on all terrain and yet hold up firmly on icy surfaces. The Snowjam bindings are fine if you go the non-release binding route.

I would suggest Revolts at the very shortest. If you are going to be riding varied terrain, park, powder, crud, chop, groom, etc .... at your size the Revolts and/or DLPs/ALPs will give you the best balance between maneuverability and versatility along with plenty of room to grow.
I started on boards too short and with the rapid pace of the learning curve on skiboards, I had to upgrade after only a few times out.
Just my 2 cents.
By the way, I'm originally from Idaho. Grew up in Nampa and moved to Boise for college, then stayed there for about 9 years or so before moving out here to Oregon.
