wooded areas, sometimes unmarked/outta bounds, that are ungroomed with varying steepness and terrain. major fun if ur good at duckin branches and cuttin quick turns. definitely an area on the mtn where skiboarders have the advantage over everyone IMO. PA hills lack good glades.

never rode through glades, but parks are my favorite for now.
i went up to sunday river this past saturday, decided to try to get in some glade runs, but all the glades were closed..
first run down I turned into the woods before the official start of the train and moved over into it... second time I went to the start and looked all around before duckin the rope to go in.. out of no where an old ass ski patroller shows up..
didn't take my pass though, so it wasn't too big of a deal.

well backcountry is like not a resort or if it is like the back area. Basically its where no one else is so like there could be cliffs and trees and powder patches. its fun

Backcountry doesn't have to have trees, backcountry can just be steep empty bowls, or cliffs, or chutes, stuff like that. A good example of that type of terrain can be found in my Taos Ridge post. Agreed that some glades can be considered backcountry, but in many cases they are different.

If you have to hike to get there, it's backcountry. If it's woods between some trails, that's a glade.

kind of. we have a backcountry trail but its way in the corner of the resort. so you can go up a chairlift to get to it. its fun tho.

I love the glades considering my hill is small, and has no good trails, hell they evan managed to screw up their half pipe.
All of it is unmakred, but it has signs stating the names once you get into the, EX. "Weeble Kingdom" etc
Where I go theirs alot of wooded trails, hell we evan got cliffs and waterfalls to jump.
