Anyone have experience with the 75 cm Bantams? I am wondering if my kids could learn on them and if they would be appropriate. This would be for an 8yr girl at 4'3" tall and a 5yr old by at just under 4' tall.
They really want to learn on skiboards (Dad got them hooked on the idea, ha). They have done one lesson on skis (without poles) - still barely capable and used the cord that tied the tips together.
I wonder most about if they would have the strength development to ride and turn on edges or if they should stay on the narrower / shorter skis for learning and then transitioning later to the short skiboards.
Any input or experience with kids, learning, and skiboards??

My younger grandson also wanted to skiboard when he started at 4yrs old. I got a pair of 70cm elan spyders for him.
Here is a link where we talked about this same topic.

The bantams should work great for your 8yr old, but they might be a little wide for the 5yr old. If he's pretty coordinated he can get the hang of the width, but if you can get your hands on Salomon Groms i'd go that route for him, or some cheap kids skis about 70 cm from the bay or Play It Again Sports ( i see you're in So Cal, too). Like in the other thread mentioned above, buy extra cinch straps to aid in carrying all of the equipment because your kids won't want to carry anything (or they'll carry, whine, drop, whine some more lol).

If you get the Bantams, I would recommend you also get riser system for the use of releasable bindings just to make sure they keep their legs safe as they are floating right around the 4 foot mark. I feel as if a spiral fracture that young could be pretty devastating.
As a positive, the bindings can be adjusted as they continue to grow and ensure a safe experience for a few years and you can eventually upgrade the bindings and board separately as need be.
You won't go wrong with the quality of Revel8 boards and the Spruce Riser system.
