I just got the Rev X Bindings last week. I have used them about 5x. Here is what I found:

I crashed hard a couple times and the bindings do indeed release upon strong impact. So from a safety standpiont...if you want realeaseable bindings...they do work and the breaks work well upon release.
When the bindings release...part of the binding(the step in part) stays on your boot and the binding releases from an attachment on the board....way different then traditional ski bindings. What this means is that it is damn near impossible to get the binding back on once they release if you are on a steep slippery slope. Basically if you crash on a double black and your bindings release....it is going to be a major production to get em back on, a joke really. I really think the release system works...but as far as ease of getting back into the bindings...they are very poor.
Also, I hate the fact that the bindings make you sit about 3 inches off the board...this is very uncomfortable at first and i think it makes you loose a bit of natural feel since you are way off the board.
The step in feature is not very easy to use as well. It takes some practice to be able to step into the binding...you can't just jump in like a traditional ski binding, you have to make sure your boot is perfectly lined up ...and again...on an uneven area this becomes a hassle.
In Review I give the Rev X's a big thumb's down. The safety is there if that is what you are looking for...but if you just like to get up and go...these bindings are not very user friendly in my opinion.

I am kinda torn on the safety issue now. I use to swear i would never ride a saftey binding again after riding boards five years ago. non release are better to me because of grinding and jumping. it sucks to do tricks and have to worry about my binding comming off. other pluses i liked were the fact i didnt have to spend hours trying to adjust my bindings to release at just the right pressure. also, having to chase my gear after whiping out. also it rocks to fall and roll right back over and keep going.

but, this week i was barely moving and fell into a small gash of ice. board got stuck and i went down spinning around it. snapped my leg pretty bad. now no season for me. so i am starting to contemplate safety release. at first i thought nah, i wont change. but the pain is getting to me a week later. so maybe the safety counts for something. i think i will wait for some bindings better than the revolution x's. those cons sound very convencing.

I havenät been able to ride my skis. But of the two pair I bought, one came complete with the bindings. My friend is using those (xmas gift) and fell on the slopes yesterday. The fall wasnt hard - but it was a twisting fall.

the rev x came off like they are supposed to - but forget getting them back on without a trip to the ski shop. You couldn´t get enough leverage in the soft snow above the tree line.

saftey is starting to get to be an issue for me, but if ur a hardcore rider and do alot of rails on a release and adjust them for a certain amount of preasure, what if you land on the rail with that amount of preasure. ud fly rite off the rail. but my friend just broke his leg right below the knee on his first day on skiboards. so hes gona probably get some releasables when he gets back into the sport. are those millers any good?

the erv-x release when the board is being pulled away from your boot, or twisted off, that wont happen from sliding a rail
