Ok here we go, love skiboarding looks like so much fun! new to this season need some advice on buying skiboards though. I have been shopping around and browsing at some and am a little on edge about what to get as far as length goes. I hate skiing, my balance is crap so i cant do it if my life depended on it. Skied once in my life and was surprised i was still able to walk when the day was done. Snowboarded for a couple of years but once that got to be "the cool thing to do" and all of the little arseholes started to get into it i just dropped it. I am however a huge inline skater i love it so finding the amazing sport of skiboarding i became super stoked. Now smaller boards seem more relevant to me because of the inline skates. I dont want 90cms and 73 cms seems ok. Since i am new to it and i am not a good skier what so ever; what do you recommend. I am planning on using through everything. I am pretty much fearless when it comes to this jargen so i will try anything. So as far as powder riding terrain or just slope riding goes i will be doing it all. If someone could help that would be sweet. peace out

If you have balance issues I'd suggest going as long as you feel comfortable with. The larger the boards the more stability you will have. It also depends on your height partially.

dude but the long they are the more they remind me of skis and thats shit. i can balance i do do tricks on aggressive inline skates. too me smaller ones are more appealing. as far as size goes i am about 5'4 and 115 lbs so i am a pretty tiny chick.

I think you should get the new 75cm Snowjams

That's why I said as long as you are comfortable with. Even the 99 boards don't feel anything like skis to me, although I'm 6'1", so I think anything from 75 to 95 would probably work for you. The bigger the boards you have the faster you'll be able to go, and the more stability they'll have, but shorter boards are more manueverable.

75s would be a little short for cruddy weather, but anything from there to 90cm boards have a very similar feel. If you could find a pair of the old line flys with the clown face on them, they would probably be perfect.

Greco has an old pair of line flys laying around you should talk to him about that they would be very perfect good call Kirk.

If she can't get a hold of those, anyone know much about the Groove 82cm Retros that Greco has. I've never ridden any groove boards and haven't heard much about them either. Seems like that could be a good length if 90's seem to long.

ahh i knew that my homies on the forum could hook me up! Thanks gonna hit up some stores check er out. I only thought about longer skiboards so i can smack snowboarders in the face. But with smaller ones i will be able to leap in the air better and just pile drive the assbags. anything else i should know? Like who eats better p***y snowboarders or skiboarders?

If Greco still has the Grooves. GET THEM. Until you find your "perfect" board the Grooves will serve you well. You may need more length at some point but for the price you really can't go wrong.
