Hey if you guys could clue me in on what the best all around choice is for a set of bindings that would be stuck on some mike nic pros I would greatly appreciate it. I am 5'9 135 and a intermediate skill level. Also, I am new so any idea where to get the boards, and bindings?

If you want the best bindings available now, get the Bomber Elites. You can get the MNP and Bomber combo right here on skiboardsonline.com

Th Bombers are sick but...If you have a bigger foot than the bombers don't have that much fine adjust. Mine are either too tight or too loose no in between. All my other boards(including my MNP's) have the line FF pro. Those things are bomb proof and the adjust points are every 1/16 of an inch allowing for a perfect fit no matter what size boot. Very solid set of bindings I now have 3 sets of Line FF pro and only 1 set of bombers.

Yup, all skiboard bindings that I know of are made to take both ski boots and hardshell snowboard boots. If you wear boots bigger than size 13 (mondo 32) make sure to get the XLs.

maybe a stupid question but is there a better board out there for me than the MNP? I live in MI, so lots of ice, and hard packed trails.

If you’ve got the money go for the Bombers.

I only have a size 30 boot. The thing is that all boots are different. My particular boot(the deeluxe)fits the bindings perfect with room to play so its not like they are maxed out. Its the fine adjust that does not allow me to get it exact fit. So either the boots are too loose and they pop off when jumping or they are too tight and I can feel them bow the front of my boot. Not everyone will have this problem but it does happen.

Mike Nick Pros should be perfect.

I was always wondering if that happened on the bombers, cause from what I've seen, they only have 3 toe/heel settings. Look like they could go through a war, but I hate binding play. If I had any money, I'd get some FF pros while I have the chance.

It took me a few days to get the Bombers to fit just right. Once you get them locked in with your boots though they are great. If you have any play in them it can ruin your day.

I'm not too worried about fine tuning but when the tip of one boot has some play (and you puff a few) my mind gets focused on the uneven feeling of the boots. I never had this problem with screw adjustable bindings, just the Bombers because of the minimal adjustment options. Once you find the right screw placement though, they're set.

Yeah, I learned that good binding adjustment is a good thing one day. I was riding along and hadn't adjusted my bindings in a while which I had apparently shaken a little lose, so on the landing of a jump, one of my boards just kinda slipped out from under my feet and came totally off. also if you have your bindings too tight and have metal bindings (I had the old groove bindings on my last boards) They'll scrape away at the front of your boot every time you lock in or get out of them. I had to glue a little piece of sheet metal to the front of my boot so they would stop doing that.

Yeah, those old Groove bindings needed some fixing after a while. I had to jam a piece of cloth in mine one day. Good times. I miss Groove.

Yeah jonny...I would just go when I have my FF pro's. But I learned my lesson on the bombers. The first time I adjusted them and thought they were tight enough...I locked in and went....coming down the run I went for a decent size drop and...boom...off goes my left board right as I landed. Lucky I didnt break my leg considering the drop was probably a good 6 to 8 feet and I was haulin ass. So then I tighten it back up and as I said...now it bows the front of my boot. So with the FF pro bindings I get a perfect fit no mater what size boot or what kind of boot. They are built tuff and feel solid when riding and I never worry (no matter how high) that the binding will pop off on landing.

That's not good to hear about the Bomber's bindings. I thought they were really adjustable. I have a Mondo 27 boot, so hopefully it fits right and tight.
I hate how the front of boots get's bent, scratched, etc. with the Extreme II bindings I had. The boots should come with some sort of protection. What sort of things can I do to prevent this? I guessing if I don't something about, my boots will pop off the binding from the gap left by the front lever.

for the record, i've been rockin' bomber bindings since '98, they are amazing and by far the best bindings you can own.

I don't have a lot of time on FF's but I have to agree with Greco. I've been on them since about 2000 and love them.

Mondo 35 and had problem with regular Bombers setting either to loose or to tight. Switched to Bomber Elite XL's and adjust great.

Hey Ian.cap and Greco what size Mondo do you have? Hopefully it's simliar to mine so that it fits nice and tight.

28.5 - I had no problem with my new boots. Dolomite DC-100's. My old boots took some adjusting before they fit right. I guess some boots fit better than others but they will all fit with enough tweaking.

But it doesn't sound like you can do much tweaking. My Extreme II have micro adjustments so that you can put the bindings in any position, but it seems that the Bombers have only 3 settings for the heel and toe positions.
Greco

that's not true. if you got that number from the binding chart that's not what it means. there are three distinct locations you can move the heel and toe pieces before you even begin to adjust them for your boots. i'll have to look at a pair on monday to see how many actual boot size adjustments they have.

Oh really? That's really good to hear. Then how come people are having problems with the right setting?
Greco
10-14-2005, 11:18 PM
probably because there are so many potential adjustments it takes a bit to dial 'em in.

I wouldn't necessarily say there's a problem adjusting them. I just mean that compared to the one screw adjustment on other bindings, the Bomber’s are just a bit more involved. It's not rocket science though. Sorry if I painted it that way.
