Im lookin for a new pair of skiboards and i saw a pair of canons with the length of 90cm and a pair at 99cm im not sure which pair to buy? And what sizes do you guys ride.
99 is faster and more stable. Pretty much every good board comes in 98-99. I've never bought anything shorter, though I skiied 90cms that were someone else's, and they were fun and all, but just more restrictive than 99s.

Rick,
If you're over 5'6" and you like going fast, carving and/or jumping then go with 99's. If you're under 5'6" or if you prefer maneuverabilty over mach speeds then go with the 90's.

i ride five-o's which are 90's and i can burn people with 99's......so i think the extra 9 cm's doesn't make a huge difference.....but i do think the extra width and length comes in handy when hitting powder
^You're probably better than the people with the 99s. People with the same skill as you, on 99s, will beat you, unless they're salomon buzz 99 which are too thin.

I decided to get 99cm's thanks for the help. Now i just cant decide when to buy them this winter or this summer when the deals come out.

don't count on the deals. Sometimes they just aren't what you think. A good place to venture is Ebay...but you run risk of getting things you aren't looking for. Good advice would definitely come from Greco on this. Even though it might seem logical for him to rail you into buying new stuff from SBOL, he is fair, and wouldn't cheat you into something that wouldn't be a direct fit. Good luck. I skiboard on 99's and love them. I have skiboarded on 75, 82, 90, 98, and 99 cm and am just in love with my BG Pro's. Unfortunately, the only way to really find out what works best with you is to spend the money for what you "think" is right and then adjst from there...unless you know some people who'll let you demo their gear. So, go with something and give it a shot.

im 5'6" and i have 90s and i can burn alot of skiers that are way better then me. ive never seen anyone at my resort on 99s, the biggest ive seen was court's 94s, but shes way better then me and can waste me if i hada head start. but yeah some skiers will bomb the hill and i can carve and beat them. 90s are great boards but i get to try 82s this weekend because my bindings broke so im using a pair of old harts. ill let you all know how the shorter boards are compaired to the 90s but as far as sizes, i love 90s. they're awesome and most are thick for better carving ability and easier in powder until u lean forward and do a face plant, but for me, 90s all the way!

if you're under 5'6" you really shouldn't be on 99cm boards with non-release bindings. but you guys know this.

I'd bet that thats where the most of the leg injuries come from, people using boards too big for them. I saw like 5 little kids today on 90+ boards. They almost looked like skis to them. Its just disaster waiting to happen. But... I also saw two little kids on the salomon groms. They're so tiny, its funny, but thats what little kids need.

yeah riding 11 hours on short boards (82s) i really got used to the landing on a shorter base. i think i like 82s better then 90s and whens greco gona get those lunch lady heal pads back?

Im 5'11" so i think i should be good to go with the 99's. I will probably buy these Blades (http://skiboards.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/skiboards/sporten/sporten99red.html?L+scstore+rgsd8945ff225122+10727 90447) since im a beginer they will suit me and when i need to i will step up to canon m7's or salomon sb10's.

you shouldn't waste your money on cheap boards because you're a beginner. skiboarding is so easy to get good at that you'll be wanting higher quality and better performing equipment very soon after you start.

I rented some Salomons (did I really have a choice?) at first, found out I like these new "short skis" and then invested in some skiboards. That's what I would do, then you may be able to experiment with lengths and stuff like that.

I have the old M7's (blue and white graphics) and can't imagine going on anything shorter, though i've never tried anything shorter. I'm about 80% mountain 20% park (was a former skier afterall) so I'm more for control and speed. Though I might pick up a pair of BG's cheap and go with a little wider board.
