Canon H-Series 84cm boards with groove x-1 bindings (although they originally had mounts for 8 hole bindings, so they may be ripoffs, either way they ride well), Canon M7's with Canon Thias bindings, Deeluxe boots, old craptacular nordica boots (not sure of the model), and soon will be getting a pair of 82cm Groove Taxi's and hopefully either ffpro or bomber bindings.

SkaFreak
11-16-2005, 06:50 PM
Those are the new bindings that come standard on Line skiboards...meaning they're the only bindings that are on modern Line boards because they use the 8 hole pattern instead of the 4.
Roussel
11-16-2005, 07:24 PM
ya i knew that, i just thought they had their bindings made by salomon.
NickG185
11-16-2005, 07:38 PM
they did have their bingings made by salomon, these are just the new standard ones wich arent very impressive and dont look durable. I'll probably end up throwing on old bindings if these fail to please me.

Wow! Many of you have so many boards.
I just got started on skiboarding, but ever since I saw it in 2000 I think, I knew it was for me, but no mountains rented them and buying them was out of the question. I told my dad to buy them for me before trying because I knew I was going to love them. He didn't want to thinking I might hate them and I kept pleading. No luck. My dad, brother and I rented a pair during my vacation in California and we all loved it. I told him "I told you I would love them." He did too and my dad, brother and I all got Snowjam 90s from here, skiboardsonline.com!!!
Ahh, what a happy ending! :D

thats a skiboard range we dont see being made much anymore, the mid to low 90's seems theres too much of a gap between the smaller sizes now of days, where are the 80 - 89 and 91 - 96 size?

Yeah, I don't think I want to go longer than 90cm, since I am kinda short.

yup - some aggressive inliners - friends asked me - he need shorter skiboards, he dont need 99 or 90cm, he like 82 - because spinnig for him is easy - because he make spins on inline skates, and he dont need any hardly long skiboard! so - i think industry need some short skb as well !

The only problem with shorter skiboards is in the powder. Skiers always boasting about powder. For skiboarding it just doesn't work well. I first skiboarded on K2 Big Airs and those were 80 cm and I had major trouble through thick new unridden powder. I had to really lean back until it hurt to stay in that ackward position. I like hard packed snow, that is best for short skiboards.

Groove BG Pro's are great in powder, and I'll bet the Summit 110's are as well.
I found the best for hardpack/ice were the Line Bullets, although Snowjams were fine for that too.
If someone were to give me the opportunity to design some skiboards I would go crazy with it.
Short boards are fun for skating and "messing around" in, and there are plenty of days I ride the 'ol 75's and have a great time. I find it a lot easier to do tricks and spins with short boards than with my 99's.
Every board has an area of strength and weakness. It's just like Snowboards, you just have to find what you like to do and get the boards that fit that purpose. There really isn't anything that's great for "all-mountain".

Even though shorter boards are good for doing tricks, it's harder to land air tricks.

Nice collection you have there. It looks like your own little skiboardsonline store. The yellow Bullets are striking.

Hey SkaFreak, how are those M7s?
SkaFreak
12-10-2005, 01:12 AM
I personally like them. I've never had any major problems with them. Only performance issues I've ever had is that it was hard to land in powder and if I didn't get my boards waxed on powder days I sink in on some of the flatter runs due to lack of speed. As for in the park, they are really good for landing, and I haven't tried em on any rails, but they seem like they would perform just as well.

Hey tkmalan, does the ALP base look like the Fusion base? Maybe i'm thinking of something else.
Also what bindings are you going to put on those Icelantic skis?
tkmalan
12-13-2005, 03:47 PM
Those ALP's do have the fusion base not the usual ALP base. Guess it was a screw up but I thick it looks better that way.
As for the Icelantic Scout bindings, I am not sure what to do. The company suggests AT bindings such as the Fritschi. I dont really do AT stuff so was thinking Tyrolia LD12 Freeflex. I am also consider just placing 4x10 inserts like my Spruce 120's and using the Pro Risers I already have. Anyone have any suggestions about that.
