I just recently thought of jumping into the sport, but dont know the first thing, out here in WA cant find any stores that sell or can give me info on skiboarding...
1. How do i find a set of skiboards will fit my height? (im 5'10'', and about 158lbs.)
2. what would be best lenght for all around, meaning - powder, snow park, etc. ?
3. do you have any recomend a set up for newbies?
thanks.

go for a mid to high 90's board,
it would help to know what kind of skiing your gonna be doing,
if your gonna stick to groomed mostly take a look at the Line Bullets. great deal
if you want to do more park, rails and jumps and stuff, go for Line Mike Nick Pros or the Epic Wannamakers.
and lastly if you gonna be hitting the trees or a lot of soft snow, try any of the Lokens

Well if you are looking for something right now I would recommend the mike nick pros (98cm length) with the ff pro bindings. They are are one of the best boards made and a good all around board. Something a little longer and wider would be recommended if you just like to ride powder. The MNP's would be good for your height and weight though. This is probably one of the best boards ever made. Ask Greco if he has anymore left. If you like to ride groomers and park mostly then you could get away with the Canon heritage 90's w/ff pro bindings or bomber's. I am 6'0 195lbs and I ride mostly 90's and 94's but I have MNP's as well. The longer your boards are the more stable they will be in the park, carving and for sure in the powder. Do you have any ski experience?

If price is an issue you could go with the snowjam or canon bindings as well, although they are not quite as good as the ffpros or bombers. The Canon Heritage boards will ride groomers just fine and won't do too bad in powder either.

because I be newbie at this I'll mostly likely to stick to the groomed, but then again I said the same thing when I started boarding and then the third time around all I did was hit the park...
I guess, I want to aim for Groomed, Carving, Jumps, and a little powder... would around 95cm like the "Line Bullets" be suitable? - but then I do want stability and mobility for both carving and jumping...
thanks - it always great to get advice from the proz.

go for the Line Mike Nick Pros then, the bullets where made as a groomer/skiboard cross/carving board, the MNP are good for anything.
you cant go wrong with the MNP, they are possibly the best skiboards ever made. the only draw back is that they arent as wide as some other boards liek the lokens, but if you won;t be doing much powder then it doesnt matter. they also have less of a parabolic shape, so they are better for long carves, but not as good for quick turns.
if you want more of a powder and park board, go for the Epic Wannamakers.
as for boots, its mostly comfort, but go for something thats pretty flexible and has a more of an upright stance. look for a boot that has a walk/ski knob in the back, and just leave it on walk for when u ride.

Yeah the MNP's w/ff pro's are great all around boards. As far as boots go...if you can afford it then go for the deeluxe lemans. I have found those to be the best boots I have ever owned. You dont need special boots...if you have boots from when you used to ski and they are comfortable to you then use those.

Have you tried them? I haven't heard of anything of Epic's new skiboards in terms of ride quality.
I thought these boards weren't out yet.

hey guys, I went up to the pass on saturday, snoboardin, not ski boarding, - - - but I found that the mountain is full of soft snow, I am selling my board and boots, to transfer over to skiboarding, but Im still struggling on finding the right board for me,
Im looking at towards the Epic Wannamakers or the Line Mike Nick Pros... Well the conditions I'll most likely be in is Soft Powdered snow, but I plan to go for the snow park too, out of these two boards which one would you recomend, for what Im planning to do...
thanks guys.

if you're going to be in a lot of powder then definitely go with the wider
wannamaker pros. (http://www.skiboardsonline.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=epic_2006_benny&Category_Code=skiboards)

I see that the wannamakers are pre-order only, do you have a ETA when they'll be instock? or is it ordered when someone orders them?
I want something as soon as 2 weeks from now... if theyre not available should i just go with the Line Mike's?

mann_e,
we're waiting for the epics, revel8's and lokens to all arrive. we've been told sometime in the 1st two weeks of december is when they will should be here. you can pre order any of them to reserve your pair and at any point if you can't wait any longer you can go with the mike nicks.

I see allot of people use a low 90's board is that better for the park?... Im not quite sure, if I should go with a longer board or shorter, I dont want to feel weighed down, but I want to be able to ride in powder, groomed and hit the jumps and the way down... I really dont know...
the Epics seem to me a little long? - but then again what do i know.... I just dont want to spend 3Bills and get something that wont suite my style...

most people i know ride high 99's or longer and that includes all of SBOLTeam I.
the longer the better for park, powder, speed/carving.
the shorter the better for hyper manueverability.
based on your height and what you want to do you're best to go with something wide and over 97cm.

Great thanks for the info, I think I'll end up getting the wannamakers, lets just hope they come in, sooner than later...
Is the Wannamakers and the FFPro Bindings a good combo? or do you recommend a different binding?
Greco

all the bindings we sell work with all the boards we sell. the only thing is how much you want to spend to get the performance you want. the ff pro's are great bindings.

Are the bomber elites any good? reading specs they look great, but then again you cant always go off the specs....

Greco rates them all fives for carving/speed, powder and park.
I got them because of everybodys raving comments. The hype got me!
I have not tried them yet, but they look cool.
The way they are designed makes sense when I think of the physics involved in carving and the pressure applied to the whole board. The height that they have would help in switching from left to right body roll quick carving. The quality of the metal look like they will outlast me.
