Hey,
I just bought these Fischer web 99 xrt skiboards. I know they are not supporting the industry... but, here in Spain we dont get to see much skiboards, so... hey, at least they are not salomon, right?
Anyway, Do you know them? what do you think of them? Did I throw my money away?

theres the only pic i could find..they look decent. They're wide, centered stance, symetrical. But...looks like plastic 8 hole bindings which aren't going to be all that great, the industry standard is 4 hole and the plastic isn't very durable so if you are going to want to change bindings you'll have problems finding good 8-holes. And im not sure about the core...hopefully its wood

Hello,
thanks for answering. I saw the pic you posted and yeah, the bindings look awfull.

This is the link i found. It seems like theses boards can only be found in...!?!? Japan...?!?!?!
Anyway, I think they may be the ones between Salomon minimax and a cool pair of skiboards (the ones you can use/buy in the USA)
Cheers!

Doc Roberts at Skiboards.com raves about those Fischers. Of course he also suggests converting to four hole binding.

I know how you feel, over here in the UK you cant get any decent boards anywhere, thats why i have ordered from sbol i know it can be a bit expensive with delivery and the tax they will hit you with when they arrive but by paying more you are gonna get better quality which will definately last longer.

Hey,
Yeah. It gets a bit frustrating. Which model did you get? How much did you pay? how much on taxes?
I wonder why skiboards do not sale in Spain... In fact, due to the size of the resorts we ve got, it should be eventually more used.
oh well.

I have ordered the Revel8 Revolts and should get them before christmas. I got some Neal Lyons pro with spruce riser bindings which are unused and im gonna put they on ebay when my revel8s arrive. i got them from ebay in the us and was lucky not to get taxed on them, the person wrote the value down to try and help me avoiding the taxes. I have been stung with customs charges so much when ordering from abroad. I dont know what custom charges are like in Spain but in the Uk customs are a complete bunch of arseholes and will try and sting you for as much money as they can. I am expecting to pay about £40-50 when my Revel8s arrive.

It seems i'm not the only "Spaniard" in this forum hehehe.
As Whitepain say here in spain we only have snowblades and their clones to buy
To get a true skiboard the only way is SBOL or other skiboard shop in USA .
I'm riding this:
Atomic ETL99 (http://www.skiboards.com/graphics/products/etl99.jpg)
and is the best i can get arround here :(
Alternatives:
Salomon Snowblade
Wed'ze by Quechua ( 123cm ski's with releseable bindings www.wedze.com )
Fischer Web,Web XL ( but not the XXL :( )
No Line's , no Canon , no Spruce, no Loken, no Snowjam .... no true skiboards
Saludos Whitepain, ya te vi por los foros de nevasport ;)

hey hey Mcfly!!
Nice hearing from you. All my support t spaniards skiboarders and catalonian donkey!!!
I ve seen your skiboards. How do those bindings perform?
Last year i got, just to try, the quechua skiboards. The had the non releasable bindings which got me in some trouble. On high speed they would just let the fot go... oh
Thats why i changed to releasable ones this time. I hope they re nice an easy to skiboard with.
We keep in touch ok man?
saludos

Those XXXL's or however many X's were the first skiboards i rode, they were pretty fun, i wasnt digging the fatty style, i just dont like it, it handles great on landings in the park, really good in powder, on steeps it performed fair, the edges lacked to me.
Overall its a great starting-intermediate board, has alot of forgivness due to the width of it. the bindings arent that cool though, the board itself is nice.
