View Full Version : Canon Heritage or Line Mike Nick pro?
Hi,
I am new at skiboarding. Like a lot of Europeans we all start with crap foam blades because there is nothing else. As I was looking for a descent set I found this site. Amazing! After reading a lot on the forum I think it would be wise to buy Canon Heritage or Line Mike Nick pro skiboards. I am an experienced skier who loves speed, carving and powder, and hates those long skis, that get in the way for all the fun. I am 6' and 150lbs. I suppose for the bindings everyone will recommend bomber elite? or are the risers better?
I would appreciate some feedback on what to buy (not necessary the two boards I think are right).
Thanks a whole lot guys (and girls).

based on your size i would recommend the mike nick pros. the bomber bindings are great but you can't compare them to the spruce risers because the risers are releasable and the bombers are fixed. it's apples to oranges as they say. so first you have to decide if you want fixed or releasable. the bombers are the best fixed bindings and the spruce risers are the best releasables.

Thanks Greco.
Choosing between release and non release bindings still is difficult for beginners. I read about pro and cons.... guess I have to try non release first, and start out with care not to injure myself. Better like this than to start with release and swith to non release after a while. Seems like most of the riders use non release (is it?).
What about the wax... do the line boards have to be hot-waxed before use, and do you wax regularly? What are good quality waxes
A last question: anyone knows the shipping rate for Belgium(Europe)? I plan to buy Line MNP 98 with bomber bindings.
Thank a lot!!

sam,
we apply a rub on wax before we ship which should start you out but you should hotwax your boards close to the beginning and then every few days of riding.

Hi Greco,
When I give my skiboards to the shop, will they treat it properly?, because nobody here has exerience with skiboards. Is it the same treatment as snowboards? Or is it better to do it yourself. Applying rub on wax every day and a hotwax treatment every ten days of use is not sufficient?
Thanks,
Sam

it's definitely more cost effective to do it yourself. 10 riding days between hot waxes seems long to me but it all depends on how well you want your boards to perform.
