Hey All,
We just locked down our lodging for the St. Sauveur event coming up at the end of this month, I'll attach some pics. If anyone is going to be in the area of Mont Saint Sauveur (http://www.montsaintsauveur.com/) January 23rd, 24th and 25th and they want to ride with the likes of Neal Lyons, Serge Maheu, Andy Stewart, Ryan Markham, Adam Lynam, Ben Wannamaker, Bailey Mitchell, Mike Ponessa, Mike Wass, Greco and others contact me and i'll give you the details.
If you only go to one skiboarding event in your life this should be it!

Greco,
For the rest of us, I'd assume it's every man for themself when it comes to lodging, etc? It's only about a six hour drive for me so I might be up for that if I could find someone else (or a couple people) to share a room with. It looks like you can get a nice room for $104CAD/person/night includes lift ticket and breakfast. Anyone up for this, shoot me an email. I'd be coming from Syracuse.

It's usually pretty smooth going into Canada...less so coming back into the US. The typical routine for me has been, citizenship, where do you live, where are you going, how long will you be in canada, etc, alright you can go. Coming back they sometimes get a little more nosey and at least at the NY/Ontario border they usually search your trunk and run your plate. Occasionly they'll ask to do a full vehicle search, but that's never happened to me. Never seen any drug dogs either. I'm not sure if it's any different going into Quebec, I'd guess not though. That's been my experience, for what it's worth.
C.Langer
01-06-2004, 01:34 PM
That works for me Greco, if Lynam's down ... I'll PM or email him. I work in Malvern anyway so we could meet up pretty easily.

I don't know if i am going to beable to make it..
I am getting laser eye surgery tomorrow and they state no skiing for a month. :( wether or not i have goggles or not..
I'll let you guys know.
Greco
01-06-2004, 01:58 PM
last season I went to Quebec twice via the I87 border crossing and both times going in to Canada it was really chill, just show ID's and have a nice day. Coming back they are more strict, squinted eyes, invasive questions but still never a search.
My guess is you only care about the going into part because coming back Team Green will have taken care of that for you.

Well its offical, I can't go to sauveur on the weekend of the 24th.
my doc told me specificly to avoid skiing/skiboarding/snowboarding for a month. So for those people i was suppose to drive... sorry..
Greco
01-09-2004, 08:17 AM
you could still come. party and do camera work. come on man what's up with that?!
Well, it suprisingly enough looks like I've managed to get myself able to go..
only problem remaining is that Im gonna get into Montreal on the night of the 23rd, which is 50 miles from the mountain. Is anyone going up that night (and through Montreal)?
Otherwise, anyone know if Sauveur has any buses that shuttle or if theres any other way (besides a taxi) to get there?
CrazyDave
01-09-2004, 10:38 AM
joel, I'm not sure 100% if I can make it yet...but if I do, I'll be heading through Montreal on the 23rd. I could time it to pick you up if needed. Are you flying in and out? What times?

Taking a bus from here in Boston, and they leave pretty much every hour or so, so it's pretty flexible. If that could work out though, I couldn't thank you enough.

Hi guys... alex beaudet here from quebec.
God I never thought so many skiboarders were into this
jam!!!!
I was thinking only the 6 of us from last year would be there..
Greco this is so sick for The Condo! I was looking for
cheap rooms for ben and the guys. Floor here we come!
haha and if its too crowded we can always sleep in the
car or find a cheap ass motel not too far away =P
Mike Wass COME ON DOWN anyways and chill with us!!!!
bring an XBox or something....=P I don't know but all I know
is that I want you there my friend!
At least you wouldn't be crippled like last year....
And I am probably going to be in montreal Friday nite the 23rd for hte Rise Against/Anti-Flag show... if someone is in montreal and needs a lift for Sauveur then I probably could provide it if you
can make it to the show for a specified time. Metro and buses are
pretty easy to get there from anywhere.
I'll check the board!

theres a bus that goes from montreal to sauveur, then tremblent, http://www.limocar.ca/upload/FichiersIWEB/PromoSkiInterieur.jpg i dont know if theres an english version...
Damn, i hope i can make it there, sounds like this is gonna be off the hook. My dad works for usair, so i can get a free ticket, just need a way from montreal to the mountain. I think im gonna try that bus thing. Anyone know how much lift tickets are? I think I'd just be there like friday night, and ride saturday. Greco, is there still any floor space available?

Hey guys it sounds like Sauveur is going to be awesome. Can everyone who is planning on coming send me an email so I can get a count and also so I can have all your emails in one place. That way I can send you all details about condo address and stuff. Kirk I think there should be plenty of floor space, the place looks pretty big.
Later,

well, the bus I'd take is gonna get to Montreal at 9:30.. will any of you be around there then?
(edit though, I was just lookin around on orbitz.com and for like $100 more I can get a round trip plane fare.. much more flexible times, and a one hour over 6 hour journey :) ). They come in between like 4:30-7, if anyone would also be around then.

it's looking like i'm going to be able to make it...unfortunately i only have a small truck so once it's loaded with my stuff I can only fit one other person. so i guess i can give you a ride joel. you're going to have to send me an email at some point and let me know where i can find you on friday. if it's between having a ride or not I can fit you too kirk but i'd suggest trying to work something out with alex if possible.
i wish i was going to that anti-flag show, should be great...
(joel, I can basically leave work whenever on friday...just need to know in advance when I need to be in montreal and where...my schedule is pretty flexible)

After some checking around I've found a shuttle that runs from the bus stop to right near the mountain at 8 PM.. Since I'm not really 100% sure if I'm gonna be there yet, if theres someone else that knows they'll be there and needs a ride (like kirk), then you should give it to em. I can get there one way another and I don't want to hold you up any or stop anyone else from being able to get there..

damn i thought it was gonna be only a couple of people but there seems to be a shitload. Hopefully i coudl make it. ill most probbaly be able to come up saturday afternoon... i have a place to crash but its like 1 min walking from you guys so i have an xbox. its always up...i might part with you guys then go crash at my place. id love to give you guys rides but im still not sure if ill be up.
Lift tickets are the following price:
Day Pass
For adults: 43$
Students 35$
Evening Pass
For adults: 32$
Students 27$
But i was wondering...you guys mean the avila park right? because the st.sauveur park was relocated to Avila which is right next door(1 trail down). The only thing at Sauveur is a huge jump and a funbox. but those are crowded in the day(saturday and sunday) because of the snow schools. Oh and greco the condo is rather big. Its right across my condo and its rather big. Lots of room on the floor but with that many people...i dont think anyone is gonna sleep...lol

ohh and guys, if your entering canada...dont bring drugs...dont screw up a good weekend for a couple of dime's. seriously just buy it there...drug dealers are every where...and worst comes to worst i'll buy it beofre i come then sell it to you guys, but i doubt it since my dad is my ride...lol...la belle province should be packed with dealers(la belle province=hot dog joint in the city, which is about 5 mins walking from the condo)

remember thats at avila...in order to get there...buy your ticket..take the quad up...get off the quad, ski to the left and as straight as possible...you will then reach a new high spped quad(3 mins to the top) which is very orgasmic...then you turn left and your at avila...thats it

I surfed around on the websites today and its weird
because
the Mont Saint Sauveur and Mont Avila websites both have
the same Park pic.....
but I guess if its located in Avila then I'll take your word for it
=P
its cheaper at Avila anyways no? I've seen 32$ for students
with student ID and 36$ for 13-59 (that's you Greco! hehe)
65$ canadian for the sickest skiboarding weekend/event ever
is cheap as hell =P 25$ worth of gas for my trip and eating
expenses plus booze....not too bad =P
