i'd like to take some video this season... can anyone recommend a decently priced video camera that can be used to record myself and some friends while we ride?
is just a small hand-held digital camcorder enough? i'm not looking to make any feature length films, just would like to put together some clips like are on this site. when you arent filming, do you store the camera in a locker somehwere, or is it durable enough that you can just keep it in a pocket while you ride?

just looking for some ideas..

most of the video you see on SBOL was shot with an olympus digital camera that also shoots video (C-3040 Zoom). Last season I got a MiniDV cam (Canon Elura 70) which shoots much better video of course because it's a video camera but if you just want to shoot here and there you don't need anything special.

i keep it in either a pack or my inside jacket pocket.

I use a digital camera also. I've got a Canon PowerShot S500 with a 1gb memory card. It shoots pretty good video and I don't really need anything more. Its also easier to upload from a memory card than a dv video camera. You'll need a fire wire port/cable to upload off a video camera.
