im guessing most of the people that are big on rails detune their edges to make everything go smoother. i just finished taking off some of the rust because they've been getting a little wet and i wana know how you do it.

just grind a lot and don't get them sharpened. It will do it itself.

I don't grind yet, but do lot of fakie turns at high speed so detune the front and back of boards about 3/4 of an inch beyond the effective edge all round the tips and tails. I use a file.

Most shops will detune the tips and tails (about 2 inches from where the base contacts the snow). If you want to detune more just run a diamond stone or file over them at about a 45 degree angle. Be careful not to do it too much or youll make it really hard to carve.

could be. it also could be the rail, we have a rail with a dent in it (mailbox) and its easy to get caught up on, you have to go fast.

It mostly has to do with technique. As soon as you get caught on a front edge, you'll catch. Keep it sorta in a royale type thing, and you'll be fine.

i think my boots are too big... for example when i throw my weight forward some times to stand on the tips of the boards and turn backwards my feet move around in the boot a little bit...
