I'm very pleased to be going to Whistler Blackcomb at Easter this year and I was wondering if anyone knew what the skiboarding support was like there. IE, any idea if I can hire skiboards there, or preferably buy skiboards there?
I've been reading a lot around the forums for the past couple of days and I've had some great advice off a few different members. Chances are I'll end up ordering a set of boards from here before I go, but it would be nice to know if the resort would be another option.
TIA :)

skiboards are practically unheard of here man.. i just got my boards today and i wouldnt be surprised if theyre the only pair of skiboards in whis.. i havent seen any in any shops and im sure you can rent them somewhere. Highly reccommended to order some from Greco, hes the best in the business.

I think you can probably get somesort of skiboards (maybe not proper ones) cos I'm going to Banff in a couple of weeks and looked into hiring some for my mate. They rent out Head Big Easy's in Banff anyway if that helps. I can't see why Whistler would be any different. You might need to hunt around for them though.
My advice to you though, would be to buy some proper fat boards from here as the snow is looking awesome in Whistler already, and you'll need some proper boards to do it justice. (Wider=better,Wood core=better). There's plenty of time for your boards to arrive before you go. Personally I'd get some of the Revel8 Revolt's, they look amazing.
Nice to see a fellow Northern Monkey on the site, I'm about 40mins from Manchester myself by the way.
Bailey, give me a shout if you fancy hittin up the slopes, I'll be in Banff from 18th Jan (but skiing from 19th/20th onwards) and I'm there for two weeks. Won't be straying too far from the groomers though as I only have Spruce Flyers as yet and don't fancy their chances in the pow! (Although I'll maybe hire some twin tips/ free-ride ski's)

Thanks for the reply Mattskas. I've now pretty much decided to buy a set of boards before I go out. Just gotta choose a set now, there seem to be a lot of decent boards out atm. Nice to be spoilt for choice though I guess :)

Mattskas - go monkeys, go! (I'm from near Stockport)
Luckily for me, I'm living in the US for a bit, about an hour's drive from Camelback.

Klaus: No probs mate, hope you have a good time out there.
Graham: Haha wicked, I'm gonna be working in Stockport soon. would probably prefer to be in the US though
Good to see a strong UK contingent getting into the sport :D

Have a good time in Whistler! Make sure you travel to the Blackcomb Glacier, which is the place in the pic below (been there on Skiboards)
Also, Whistler has a big mix of snow conditions, from wet snow down on the bottom to fluffy powder up top.
Recommendation: Probably the new Revel8's or something that can deal with wide variety of terrain.
