SO I recieve my package from D-Structure all stoked to hit the slopes tommorow night

WHEN......

Im about to hot wax em
I first just check the mounting on the bindings
Line FF pros on 98Pro Skiboard
I expected it to be mounted by the store already
(they're in Montreal and Im in winnipeg)
I follow the instructions line up what I could with the Rubber Risers under
AND
then try to screw em in
PROBLEM: The Holes have a 2 mm spacing difference than the board
WTF!?!??!?!

Is there a "special" way of mounting them? The instructions seem straight forward
and to think
Line Pro bindings on A Line Pro board that hsould be simple

Im totally on a downer right now cause of this dillemma :(

anyone have suggestions?

Oh yea if any one has MSN and wants to stayu in contact mine is
JapSpecRDStR@hotmail.com

:D

btw I can probably grind a good 2 mm's off the binding holes so they line up and then create a counter sink
But will this ruin the integrity of the bindings? There'll be a good 2 mm gap which will be covered by the head of the screw

I'd first investigate about a warranty or something with the people who youi purchased them from. BEFORE you did any manipulating of the setup. If they shaft you...then I'd be at my first proshop to see about getting them to look at it and possibly so the work...that way you have someone to pin if it gets screwed up. Unless, you want to do this work yourself.

2mm isn't very far...but I can see how it would screw things up. Did you screw the 4 bolts/screws in one at a time, or each one a little bit, by little bit. that way, all four get threaded first. Just suggestions.

Find a shop that actually has a clue, then get them to do it. That way if they screw up it's their fault. If you do, you've got wrecked boards and a voided warrantee.

tried screwing it all 4 evenly
they screw in at an angle and don't go in no more due to the threads.
:(
Looks like I haven't had any response from the store
and didn't get a response back from Line either

and if I were to send it into line...won't they just replace it with the shatty 8 hole Pros? That would really ruin my day.

well it is 2 mm off when the 2 front or the 2 back holes are exactly on top
BUt I can even it out to 1 mm each side and create a counter sink so the Screws don't shift or shat
and maybe fill it with PTEX on top of the screws so they don't get jarred.

Such a crappy ass dillemma

I wasn't looking at doing anything with the boards haha
Just the bindings. I find it a little safer that way. SO if I do mess up I won't be losing a board and just losing the bindings.

just call d-structure, Felix (the guy who handles e-mails) never answer the e-mails, and they like it better when u call them anyways

its nto free tho :(

yea I know that's the shatty part
LONG DISTANCE
I wish they had a 1800 number

first Im going to try to check a shop to see if they can do something for me.
it's just 1 mm increased on each hole. With a counter sink it should be perfectly fine I believe......
From experience making own soulplates on my skates.

If that don't work then I can't go out this weekend. I'll have to wait another week or two for my boards and bindings AGAIN :(

thats really weird that they dont fit tho, i think the old 4 hole system was a little different then the one we have now but i doubt ur bindings are that old.

it was soo shatty when I tried to line em up
well the bindings do screw in easily but only 2 at a time
it's 2 mm's off so that totally knocks off the "easy self mounting".

I am shaking my head about your dillemma. Seems rediculous to me that, correect me if I'm wrong...your bindings 4-hole pattern are fine but your board got drilled 2mm out of spec. I would be furious and have D-structure overnight me another set boards + have them pay shipping costs to return the pieces of cakked-up drilled boards they sent you. If D-structure has any good bones about them, they should do this without failure. I wouldn't do anything to the bindings or the boards until I got correctly drilled boards that any skiboarder would be expected to use. You paid the money for a good quality product, and what you got isn't of good quality...it's not your job to fix it.

YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER!!!

dont send them to line because they WILL replace them with the new ones with plastic 8 holes. they probably just messed up making the bindings.. on my cams the loops are all different sixes by a couple mm's so i have to have them set up at 2 different settings.

The boards weren't purchased from Line...but from D-structure. D-structure is responsible for providing a workable set...then they should take up the defect with Line themselves. I would call them ASAP and make sure they take care of this. If they care about their customer base than they shouldn't have a problem overnighting another set of Pro's to you and including a shipping slip paying for the shipping back for your defective set.

If they don't...welll...there is always the boards to talk about how you got screwed.

If you measure the distance between the holes on the binding and on the boards which one has the correct 40mm spacing? Is the 2mm difference just in the front to back direction?

Thanks for the advise guys and gal.

So i brought em in to a pro shop.
Turns out my snowboarder buddy works there and got a deal.
$20 for the problem plus he chipped in a few extras on the side :D

It'll hold and Im satisfied. I know a lot of people would've probably sent it back and took the time etc etc. But There's a JIBFEST going on at one of the local resorts and wanted to be there on time.
overall Im completely satisfied now ^_^.

Also got the dillemma with my boots fixed too. When I tried on boots last time the employee didn't know about the micro adjustments on the buckles.
SOOO
now I got myself a nice pair of Rossignol Soft Lite 3's

well Im bringing my thread back again

BECAUSE..................

I brought my boards to the ONLY Line specialists in the city.

AND

he was able to mount them on the factory inserts :o

I feel like such a dumb moron.

I find this really F#$Ked up because they were never able to fit correctly before. It must have been some Line specialist guru magic.

*sigh*

now Im stuck with four new drilled holes on each of the boards filled with glue plugs and epoxy.
This totally brings down my mind.

Looks like I'll be ordering from SBOL very soon

;)
