Conditions around me suck. I've been 2 times and I'm going today. We got a storm that dumped 17 inches of pow over the past 2 days so that should ride pretty nicely, but the area still only has half of it's lifts open, but the other two lifts are pretty short and service some pretty sketchy and really fun blacks and double blacks.

Today will be my 7th trip to the slopes. 2 times at whiteface in upstate NY, 1 time to whitetail and 4 times to ski liberty.

You dawgs, I wish I lived that close to a mountain. I haven't even been yet. I should get about 7 or 8 days in during February and March. I wish it could be more.

I've only been able to go out about 4 times so far. I really should have gone earlier in the season, so I really only have myself to blame. I WAS planning on making another night trip tonight, but while helping a buddy of mine gut the turbo out of a car for a transplant, I had a hood come down and gash the top of my head pretty nice. Lotta blood and a big headache...After waiting around for 2 hours in the ER, it kinda dampened my mood to go, y'know? At least I didn't need stitches like I originally feared.
And I've heard the same thing from people, that the winter's going to turn around in the last few months and get good. I really get annoyed with all these winter haters I talk to. It was like...50 degrees out the other day and everyone kept saying "Oh, it's so beautiful outside." The hell it is!! Beautiful would be a foot and a half of fresh snow to ride on! Or at least temps below the freezing mark so the hills can make some snow.
On the other hand, I've had a few people remind me that warm winters this time of year usually unleash some pretty good snowfall totals late in the season. This one old lady rattled off all the years that these huge blizzards happened in Feb and March after a warm December and Janruary. Here's hoping, huh?

Only 7 days on my season pass during winter break, and now I'm 600 miles away from that mountain...

I've gone twice this season. In retrospect, I really wish i hadn't bought new boards and boots, and I'm thankful I didn't buy any other winter gear like a coat or goggles (which I was planing on doing).
I've been skating so much that I welcome the warm weather. Who would have thought we would have 60 degree days in Jan. in NJ?!? As it stands, I'm done with winter sports until next season.

That's pretty funny on the "skiboards fund" signature that you have. Have you gotten any contributions yet?
Why are you getting bored?

The wasatch areas have gotten about 300 inches so far this year, I've been out about 5-6 times and its been sick each and every time. At least knee deep powder and sick tree skiing.

i wish i could cork. so far i can only 180 off small (15-20 ft) tables. ive been more working on switch ons on rails and harder rails and other stuff like that. our jumps have steep short landings so you have to be going perfect speed to get it which isnt always reassuring.

I've been about 10 times. Spent a week in Austria where it just dumped snow all week. It was amazing.
Then went 3 times the other weekend here in Italy. The conditions were ok, might head out friday locally. Unfortunatly when we go, it's quite expensive since there are 4 of us, otherwise we'd go all the time.
Here's to wishing you guys stateside snow storms.

So I guess from one of your other comments in another post that you are actually a transplant, originally from the U.S.? I thought the American English was a little good for some reason. Are you there for good, or just a stint?

Ohio seems to be stuck in a Sin wave of poor conidtions.
We get one or two days of cold weather followed by 5 or 6 days of 40 degree weather.
Ive been out 6 times so far, but twice we gave up after 2 or 3 hours since they were blowing snow at the local hills making it a mix of glue and OK snow.

I've only been able to get out 4 times this season. The weather here has just been really dry. We have the temperatures to make snow just fine, we just don't have any moisture for anything natural. We had a small storm the other night and are supposed to be getting hit by some more tonight. One good solid storm and we should be decent off, but I don't think we're going to even get near our average.

Hey Mikemtn,
You are correct, I was born and raised on Long Island. I've lived in Korea, Germany ( 5years) and now Italy ( 2 years). We have a year left here but may stay for another 3 year or try and head to Germany again.
Still haven't seen all I want to see in the 8 years.

I should have been able to figure that out. I wish I were a SAHD. I need my wife to get a better job, like my brother's wife - doctor.

One of my other brothers was stationed at San Vito several years ago. Are you near that? Probably not, I think that is in Southern Italy, and you must be closer to the mountains.
