Future of Revel8...

With Ben Wan on board with Revel8, now, are there any plans for more than one model of board next season? I'll probably just keep riding my trusty Line boards for the rest of this season, but I'm interested to see where Revel8 is headed. Your current Revolts look amazing, so you guys are off to a great start.

Hey G. If you ever need some graphics done up, I've got a buddy of mine from school that I could call up. He's a always been an insane artist, and he's been a tattoo artist for the past...um...say 5 years or so.

Oh, and I dig the urban camo design, too, WD. Pretty slick.

I always like simple designs better. It would be cool to see something minimalist, like the graphics on the Burton Custom X boards.

But I like the current Revel8 graphics because it's not messy and too-colorful.

Simple's the way to go. :)

Agreed. My friend had a snowboard with a florescent orange bottom that would make a neon-ish highlight around his board. Made it pretty easy to spot him on really sunny days.

Don't the Revolt's have a graphite base (correct me if I'm wrong G)? And I don't think graphite bases can be any color but that dark black. So unfortunately, no base graphics without downgrading build quality...

Yeah, they had sintered bases. I've got 2 sets of MNPs, which bases were you refering to?

i would love to see Revel8 t-shirts, a nice 99cm board or keep the 105. I also like the idea of a base with a glo or mike's idea like the old lines.

You can have lettering on some black bases but I believe it has to be like a cutout and then replaced with whatever color you want the lettering and it is really expensive vs. a clear p-tex where you can put whatever graphics you wish underneath it and much cheaper.

yeah im a grafik designer since 1998... i can do anything ... my old job was a tattoo artist and a airbrusher, so i have a great past in art, now im working on my new website (portfolio), im little tired to work for someone who cant say "you do a great job" so i decide to start on my side... ho and i have 3 nomination in quebec from design, for best creation..

Know what might look kinda cool? Make a large template (though small enough to be manageable) hang it up on a wall and let a talented graffiti artist go to town on it. Then shrink the template down to skiboard size and *whack!*...cool graphic.

Just a shot from the hip....The idea came to me today while I was at work, stuck at a railroad crossing in the shop truck for 15 minutes while a train went by. Saw some really impressive graffiti on the side of the cars. Someone out there's good with a spraycan.

As far as the graphics...obviously graphics are always an opinion thing, and everyone has one.....but I personally think the revolts graphics are a little on the HOMO side... I understand the whole concept thing of it, but graphically it's a little little light in the pants for me. This is what steered me away from it more than anything else. I'm not one of those guys who wears pink either, although I hear that it's now cool to do so. (FWIW the lack of graphics are what steered me away from the spruce 120's as well as the summit custom)

The MNP's of old were some of the best graphics of all time, however the Mix fusion design was pretty wicked as well.

90% of the time on the mountain the graphic are covered with snow anyway.
Graphics are like the seperator when making purchases for me. If simalar boards have simalar specs and or performance, I'm always going to choose the one that looks better over the other one and sacrifice a 1/2 cm -1 cm in width / length which isn't going to make a reel difference in performance anyway.

I'll give you that one.... definitely an extremely poor choice of description. Most of the time when I post up I just type without putting too much thought into it. It wasn't meant as a slam on someone's sexual orientation. Next time I'll try to be a little more P.C.

Judging solely by the name REVOLT and the graphic... I'd assume that it's taken from that... but it looks like a bunch of naked dudes in an orgy sorta... That's what I meant earler when I said... I understand the idea, but don't think it translated into the graphic that well.

By the way, I got me and my brothers Revolts. Beautiful boards. Really like the construction. Got to watch those little splinters, tho, right?! I guess after they get worked over a couple of times, those little slivers go away.
Looks like the sidewall is the same material as the base, so I guess I'll rub some wax into that to keep them from drying, right? Thanks again Greco. Nice product.

I actually never had any improper thoughts about the graphics. I think it's a cool design, actually.

When I showed them to a buddy of mine, he kinda cracked me up. In reference to the graphics, he held out one arm and pointed in much the same manner as one of the dudes in the graphic while saying, "He did it." Don't know why it struck me as funny, but it did.

Honestly, what matters most is the performance and durability of the product..

So far... noone has complained which means Revel8 has definitely struck a lasting mark on the future of skiboarding. Nothing but rave reviews, and a killer team behind them. I am just bustin bawlz on the graphics man... it ain't nuttun to fret over or anything like that. If I had the spare coin layin around I'd probably rock a pair myself and learn to like the graphics in the end.

As someone who is seriously considering the Revel8s as my next boards (the three contenders are those, the Spruce 120s and the Summit 110s, but that won't be till the end of the summer or early next season, first I need to pay off my SnowJam 99s and the season pass I bought), I beg that NOT use any kind of generic graphics. Urban camo? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I love the graphics as they currently are, so if you change them use something similarly abstract and weird. Just my $0.02.
