i've ridden the CT8's and they are AWESOME! I didn't get to ride them in powder but in groomers the deep side cut and sweet flex pattern allowed me to carve really tight, deep turns without any chatter or loss of edge. I also got to hit a few rails and boxes with 'em and again no problems, they performed great. Highly recommended!

Took my Bajongs to Sweden this weekend. There was powder to be had :D

There was an awkward combo of light crust and pure powder. The Bajongs performed great in these conditions. The most noticeable thing is that I didnt have to use ALL of my energy just keeping that hair-line-perfect balance just to stay upright, like what I've been used to. The huge surface-area just made it a lot less straining and a lot more fun, and It made it easier to handle the combination of crust and powder that I was skiing.

I was skiing with a couple of friends, one on a snowboards, one on skis. I pretty much outran them both. They had a harder time controlling their tools, while I enjoyed my wide 99.5 cm skiboards. They tumbled around a lot too, due to this. Im not going to lie and say I didnt, because I fell a lot too, but falling in powder is one of the great things about riding in powder, Its just a lot of fun, as long as you dont hit a tree or a rock :D

A really great weekend :)

sound great Lars...maybe if i get the money sooner ill go ahead and buy them

if loken keeps up the style of boards they've been making so far, really fat and ninety something centimeters, i might be able to wait for next years boards

Since not a lot of people have written a reviews for the Lokens, and I have time to waste at work, here's my take on the lovely CT8s:

I have only been skiboarding 3 times now and 2 of those times were on the CT8s, the other time on the Revel8 Revolts. My first time ever on skiboards was definitely interesting. As many of you have seen, the CT8s are extremely wide. I don't know if my inexperienced factored into this or not, but I had a difficult time skating on them, and still do, but that's really unimportant. The first time I used them, the conditions were pretty good ranging from packed powder to slushy crud later in the day.

After getting used to the length.... since I've never skiboarded.... these boards ride orgasmically :-) The width makes them extremely stable going down the runs and the edges hold even on icy conditions. I was carving like mad by the end of the day, and the sidecut radius was insane! Going fakie was as easy as going forward due to the height of the tips. Buttering on these in the snow is a breeze, and I think this might be attributable to the width, which made them feel really stable.

As most of you know of my little incident with the sidewall, I ended up getting huge dent on one of the boards. I did take some minor tumbles, but nothing major that would have caused that much extensive damage. Whether this is representative of a freak case or just poor construction, I don't know, since I'm the only one that this has happened to. Nevertheless, they still ride pretty well, for having a huge dent in the sidewall.

The second time I took the CT8s out, we had just gotten some fresh powder so I decided to take them out through the glades and see if the performance due to width transferred over to powder. These things floated so nicely on the powder. I kept leaning back to avoid catching a tip but eventually I did and flew forward and ended up with a nose full of snow. I decided to try them out on the terrain parks to see how they compared to the Revolts, and in my opinion, I think they performed better.... only because I felt the shorter length of the boards made them more manueverable. As for the stiffness, well, I'm 6'2" 240, so I didn't feel much of it. For someone smaller, that might be a different story. I was able to do ride the tips... I think that's called a pimp grind?... with ease. Since I was becoming more comfortable, I started getting more technical with mono butters and the control was still there. I hit a few small jumps and got some 180s and 360s out of them with no problem. Landing, once again, is solid, I think becuase of the width of the boards.

I didn't jib on these just because I was paranoid that I would end up breaking them or doing something worst than the dent already on them, but I think all the other people who have them can attest to their excelling performance on rails and whatnot.

I hot waxed the boards with that XKI wax being sold here and on ebay, and I have to say that this wax is fast! I was flying down the mountain passing skiiers left and right... so the boards have that going for them too.

Aside from my little mishap, I only have praises for these boards and I commend Ola and Loken industries for designing and putting out a great product. Highly recommended these boards be.

CT8's are where its at.

Best baord i've ridden on rails. stable stiff and smooth slidding. I personally love them for jumps because i prefer stiff boards. but for those who love flex go with the apetorches. Ct8s have nice carving like an older style ski where u can really dig the tails in and throw a wall of snow. wide for powder also. unless u have a wide stance not recommended for smaller riders. they are a bit wide I noticed this when i put mine next to whitedime's Line's. Made his look like baby skiblades!!! for apetorch info ask Courtney Celley or Dave Lynam! I am interested in trying them but i'll get a pair next year.
