thanks i understand what a side cut is now ;-)

im still not really sure if more is better - and or what exactly a 5 meter side cut is - but i feel i understand a little better

when you do your slalom if you have skis who have sidecut 14m thats will mean you can curve in that range approx. and that will be more difficult to curve in short range .... the best if you like slalom is a smaller range of sidecut .. like i already told you before im not verry good to explain in english it's verry mathematics...

basically what how you mesure sidecute is if lay the ski or snowboard down on the ground and draw a big circle with the profile of the ski the diameter of that circle is the sidecut.

so if the ski has a deeper profile, the smaller the circle will be, and the smaller your carves will be.

if the profile is not deep, the circle will be bigger. longer carves.

i get it now --- smaller side cut means easier turning

thanks for the help on this - i just became one thing smarter always cool.

does mean easier turning just deeper the sidecut the shorter the carve.
