So we go to our local shop "Sierra Snowboard & Ski" great shop! that's where we got fitted for our boots.

We bring in our setups

Me - 6'4" - 302lb
Revel8 Revolt
Spruce pro-lite riser already installed (thanks greco)

Wife - 5'4" - 175lb
Snowjam 90
currently has Extreme II bindings
Bought Spruce composite risers

So we go in and immediately the girl behind the counter gives us the "whoa those are some short skis!"... the old guy (who seems like he'd be the goto guy) comes over and looks at melike I'm an alien who just brought in some kind of foreign object... he literally stares at them for 5 minutes. I let him know that I just need my bindings adjusted to my boots and a wax. My wife needs her old bindings removed and the new ones installed and fitted to her boots, also waxed.

He takes one of my boards and a boot to the back because he's not sure if their machine will work with it... he comes back puzzled and says "yep it works, we'll take them and get back to you in a few days", i say "we're trying to go up on saturday", "I don't know about that" he says, "we'll have to call Salomon and Rossi to see if they'll put their stamp of approval that these bindings work with these boards" blah blah blah...

we don't know any better so we let him take the boards... on the way home we're wondering if we made a mistake.

On the wife's can we just remove the old bindings by unscrewing and screwing in the new ones? is it that easy?

is adjusting for the boot that hard that I need a shop to do it?

I don't mind paying 5 bucks for a hot wax but it would sure be easier if that's all I had to have them do.

help - was that guy a tard?

if I call tomorrow and they're not gonna have them ready by friday I think I'll just go get them and do it myself, what do you think?

If this weather breaks we'll hit kirkwood on Saturday.

you can completely do it yourself. just unscrew the 4 screws in the center of the binding and the it will allow you to remove the binding from the board. as for adjusting the spruce's for your boots spruce includes very detailed instructions with pictures on how to adjust the bindings to your boots. follow their instructions and if you have any questions we're here to help you.

good luck,

greco

Hi Greco -
I posted a nice review on the Revolts in the Reviews section.
Just wanted to mention something. I have Pro lite on my Revolts also, and I have the composite Spruce on my wife's Snowjams. I do all the setup on all my gear, the wax, setting up bindings, all that ski shop stuff, and I'm proud to say I do it better than most of those shops do... but I wanted to mention this to you in case anyone else brings it up. I've never had to re-tighten the screws on my wife's Snowjam/Spruce composite; but on my Revolts/Spruce Pro-Lite setup, I had to make sure and check at lunchtime each day, because the screws holding the riser to the board were loosening quite a bit. Now, I was really riding them hard, but I was suprised at how much the screws had loosened. It's a good thing that I keep a screwdriver in my pack. They didn't loosen on my Spruce 120's, or my MNP's. I will put locktite removable threadlock on them from now on, but just wanted you to know in case someone else has the same issue. Other than that, and the easily beaten up topsheet and top corners, they were a dream.

i wonder if it would be possible to put those lockable screws on skiboards, i dont see why not, it would save a lot of people trouble.

i think you could use the blue stuff and yes that guy sounded like a tool bag, tune your own stuff , save money and time

prolly the medium one since customers might want to unscrew at some point.
