Sup yall, I recently got a pair of Groove bindings and Canon Heritage 84 cm series. Only problem is that the holes on the skiboards don't match up with the bindings. I dunno what to do? Would drilling aligning holes make sense or no?

this is from a post about a month ago:

Beware Ebay buyers (12-11-2003 until 01-11-2005) We've had so many calls from people who've bought skiboards on ebay that we had to make an announcement. DO NOT buy skiboards from Ebay without bindings IF the boards use the 8 hole binding pattern. If it uses 4 holes to attach the bindings you'll be OK. The reason is you CAN'T get 8 hole bindings. No store sells just 8 hole bindings. So you're only option will be to buy 4 hole bindings and have a store drill them into the boards...not a good idea.

and by the way, those aren't "New Canon Boards" I think they are cheap knockoffs, Canon has never made 8 hole boards.... buyer beware on Ebay!

as long as you drilled it right (i.e. didn't drill all the way through the board), and placed the correct threads inside, i'd say you could ghetto rig it up fine. This is just my experience with mechanical devices speaking, not my experience with drilling skiboards (because i have none, just with skates & regular stuff). I drill holes in my skates all the time and it never effects it. but skates are also a lot less fragile.

i would probably drill a hole in the binding if it was rather easy to drill through.. if not, i'd carefully drill in the board down as far as the other holes are & put some really strong adhesive between it & the threads/nut. just make sure you're careful & think it out thoroughly. make sure that your threads will stay in there when taking all the pressure youll be putting on it. it may be real easy for them to come out. i'd try to find some threads with little spikes on the outside of them that dig into the side of the board when i screwed the threads into the board (and put strong adhesive).

don't blame me for anything that goes wrong, as i have never done this, but I would imagine it could be worth a try if you're willing to take risks & trust your mechanical abilities.
