hey, i just got back from my first day on actual slopes with my new canon's and on my one board there are two scrapes in the base. one runs along it and the other looks like i hit something while carving. its not too deep but if you run a finger nail across it, its a pretty good scrape. the core is even close to being exposed but will this affect my riding or speed? i was thinking about stripping the wax and gettin that board hot waxed again becuase i think that it would fill in the scrape. i left my digital camera at school so i cant upload pics, but any advice would be great!!! thanks!!!

hoty wax would fill it up but it wouldnt stay in, u should fill it in with P-Tex, go to SkiboardMagazine.com theres a guide on how to do it.

Well yeah, you gotta Ptex it if it's almost to the base, but if its just a shallow scratch then wax it and it's fine. You can't freak out about this kinda stuff, happens to all ski equipment. Don't worry too much about it, there's no point in trying to keep your boards all pretty, it isn't gonna happen.

yea the first time i took my boards to the mountain some retard runs right over them...I was SO pissed, but I noticed that there's gonna be scratches anyways. I got a nice deep cut under my boards this weekend. I think I'm gonna P-tex it
