Alright I got my ALPs today. The look awesome!!. I can't wait to try these out. Too bad these are my christmas gift and I'll have to wait until then to use them. Here's a pic compared to my 99cm BGPs.

Full res version here http://dalenet.com/~delmar/alps_full.jpg

I also want to mention that I got the Revel8 bag also. The bag is real high quality and is padded and waterproof on the inside. Only complaints I have about it is I had to get the 125cm version of the bag because there is no 110cm version.

akira523
11-30-2006, 06:02 PM
still its more reasonable to get 125 cause it fits all the boards sbol sells.

Nice pics of the alps can't wait for mine!

Are you gonna use Extreme 2 bindings or new ones?

oldskoolrider
11-30-2006, 08:45 PM
Yeah I'm going to use the Extreme II on the new ones, and I've got some Groove bindings I'm going to put on the BGPs and hand those down to my cousin.

Got the ALPs and Tanshos on Friday.

They look sick.

The ALPS I put the Orangish FFPROs on them, and it looks sweet.

And the Tanshos....I put the Old Blue FFPROs on them and I have never seen a sweeter set....ever!

My ALPs are in Seattle... but not scheduled for delivery until the 7th which is the start of my workweek. It was fine when they were still in Ohio or Pennsylvania and not scheduled to get here till the 7th, but this is torture!

Hopefully DHL will deliver them a couple of days early and they'll come in tomorrow so I can take them up on Wednesday.

Just got my EMP's! And 2 days early too! Thanks G!

btw: I ordered with the "pro lite" risers, but they arrived with what appears to be the "prime" riser and the axium 100 bindings. I don't really mind, but why would that be?

Does it matter which way the binds are mounted on the EMP Revel8? I was going mounted them with the EMP Logo on the back, but not sure if it should go the other way.

chopstix4475

bombers are too expensive and they don't even go up on ebay
i guess present owners like it too much to put it on ebay..
therefore, due to lack of cash, never had a chance to buy them.
but yes,, i heard enough +++ about em,, and i can see that with my eyes.. hahahha

i have ffpro, ffcams myself..
pros are good :) i wish its shiny so i can twitch lol

FF pros are AS good as bombers or even better depending on your riding. and they are really shiny too :D as far as bindings go i think the line ff pros and bombers are the best. I posted the blue ones on one thread. those are hot. too bad those were only ones i ever saw in blue.

use the tracking number we sent and search for it at www.parcelforce.com they take over for USPS when it arrives in the UK. and for canadian shipments, same thing but www.canadapost.com

I agree, the FFPROs are bombproof, at least they have always been for me, and I get as tight a fit as possible, I make it so it takes some effort to click the toe hold in.

And it's funny, I used the mustard colored FFPRO (Catek calls them Gold) with the ALPs, and it matches great and the Tanshos got the Blue FFPROs and I have to get some pics up of them. If you got the Tanshos, I recommend snagging a Blue FFPRO off ebay (even if it comes with a pair of beater boards). It just looks like the whole, sick package is meant to be.

Or bug Catek, maybe they have some FFPROs hanging around. Or the same thing without any branding on it. Heck Greco, how about an SBOL binding manufactured by Catek?

They do Black, Red, and Silver (is their standard) too. Not just Gold and Blue.

Catek probably made the 1st "FFaluminum" binding (no riser) and smaller footprint and thinner metal in black (very limited) then more in Red (you probably see those on Ebay sometimes), and then upgraded it to the Blue (probably to go with the Buggy Model), and then the Gold FFPRO that flooded the market when Line Abruptly bailed.

What about expeditions in Italy?

Greco

i don't know who handles the delivery in italy. to find out you use the tracking number we provide when we ship you something then enter it in your local shipper's website tracking area. if it's them it should come up with info about that shipment. that's what i did for the UK and Canada.

I just tried, but it can't find the expedition

The last info I have about my expedition from the USPS are:

Label/Receipt Number: EC91 6735 640U S
Status: International Dispatch

Your item left the United States from KENNEDY AMC at 10:17 PM on November 29, 2006. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

Do you know if it was sent directly to Italy or somewhere else?

got my boards safe and well via parcelfarce and a small customs charge. website pictures do not do the sheer size of the boards justice, im about to go all hacksaw jim duggan here these things are like 2x4's. very nice indeed. got a select skiboard bag with my purchase which is of fine quality and fits the EMP's like a glove. to all those in EU that are hesitant in ordering boards via the US i say go for it, SBOL is running a very customer friendly service here.

They were sent directly to Italy. The Italian post office is notorious for being slow though. I found this site but I don't read Italian so I can't figure out if it offers tracking. I don't think so. That might not even be the correct site. I found it here (http://www.qsl.net/w2vtm/postintl.html)
which seems like a great resource however for the UK it didn't list parcel force so it may be different in Italy as well.

And my GF got her Tanshos. They've actually been in Seattle since the 4th, but weren't scheduled to be delivered till the 7th. After waking up on the 6th and seeing that they weren't out for delivery I called DHL to arrange to pick them up at the station. That turned into an all-day ordeal: waiting for them to call me back, calling them again, and so forth, but finally I was able to go and pick them up. Oh man, wow, those are some seriously beautiful boards. I know everyone keeps saying this, but no photo of these boards does them justice.

As such, I just got back from my first day on the ALPs... not great conditions, but I'll be posting a review in the Reviews section in a little bit.

It took exactly 7 days to deliver my EMPs and bag into Canada, and $18.38 CDN (~$16.00 US) in taxes and handling. Thanks for shipping USPS, since they are much cheaper and do not take any longer than UPS who charge significantly higher handling and also add broker fees.

They look great Greco, and are much lighter than I expected.

posted my thread in wrong spot ! reposting

EMP's just delivered !!!
First impression, WOW
never seen anything like this before ...
I mean i have not paid any attention for last years Revel8's
Since I made my stupid purchase of MNP's 05'
I liked the design and all that of Revel8s but didn't pay attention
this year i started out lookin at Revel8 more closely, carefully,
and decided to buy the EMP's
i saw 14.5 width for front and back...
didn't realize the difference from MNP's EMP's was SO MUCH
i mean .. this thing literally looks like a snowboard ...
similar shape and proportion to snowboard .. however
the difference is that we have 1 of'em for each leg for more flexible movement
Graphics ! its' sweet ,, didn't realize it when i looked it online
but in person its great with abstract tree, hill, snow combination
it will be a good blend when i'm actually on snow
Props to designer and skiboardonline ppl for bringing back
the New generation for SKIBOARDERS !!! finally ....

enough with excitement ,, i installed my brand new FFpro bindings that i bought 3 years ago .. but never used ..
its worth saving and not using it for 3yrs .. i finally found a match
for it !!
emp's and ffpro looks prety sweet ...
thought it wouldn't look great since its blue pro with white and black boards ... however,, this shat loooks so sweeet.... I'm so excited once again to go on snow !! cant' wait

i'm posting up some pix here

hope to see you guys at MT. CREEK !!!
Greco hooked me up with some stickers ima go all over northeast
ski resorts and post these badassess at every lift gate

Mylam,

They are Salomon S810Ti bindings mounted to modified Spruce composite risers that permit 20 and 40 mm setback. The credit for the ideas needs to go to Valmorel for making the suggestions in previous posts.

Note that the addition of the bindings is relatively straight forward, but the provisions for the setback are more involved and should be avoided by those without machine shop skills and the proper equipment/tools.

Slow, do the brakes work on the EMP at that width?

Greco, the EMP really looks great. If I did not get my Revolt last year, I will definitely go and get the EMP. Though it is just the beginning of the season, I really look forward to the next for your coming new boards and my next purchase :D .

Mylam,

I am using the brakes that came with the C509 bindings now on the S810Ti and they work better on the EMPs than they did when mounted on my old SJ90s. They now extend fully on release when on the EMPs.

Dex
12-12-2006, 10:19 AM
Haha, I was having some problems with that, I'm not used to the twin tips and while standing in line for the lifts I would hit my back ends together, but the cracks are on the outside of the ski not the inside. The conditions weren't exactly ideal, it was a mix of powder ice, and man made snow which caused for some really strange stuff to ski on. The snow was very coarse. More so than I'm used to back east. (I skied tahoe over the weekend)

just got back from camelback up in PA. first time out on skiboards with my new revel8 emp, and i just loved it. had no problem getting right into the flow. they felt real good, i really do like them better then snowboarding.

these boards rock. felt great just flying down the moutain carving away. got to hit some nice little jumps. not so good with the bigs ones yet went for a slide on the rail got on it nice but then got into my skate mode and leanback on the edge as if i was doing a royale and wipe out. all and all had a great day and love skiboarding.

i wound up buying a pair of skiboots over and a shop just outside the moutain. got me a pair of tecnica modo 8. havent had much exp. on skiboots but these felt great. not a bad price too. $239 if i knew any better i would have uped a little to the modo 10 @ $299. they had adj 3 postion cuffs. but the modo 8 comes with bronze buckles and decals so they match my Line bindings.
