Im just tryin to see who rides either 75 or 90 boards or who has road both and which style you ride. That way i can get an idea of what kinda board you think feels better for what your doing. So basically anyone post what size you ride and what you do. And some insight on if the board has helped or dampered your performance.

Thanks.

i ride some old Snowjam 90's (green and orange swirls?) I think that 90 cm is a great length for me. Since i ride all over and i never see powder, they are just a great fit for me. They can hold their own when i want to journey int othe park and they can hold a pretty good edge when im carving down a hill. Altough i would like to try some 99's this year, its all about convincing the parents in order to get me some. (but i doubt it :( )

I own Snowjam 90's and ridden Snowjam 75's. I like both-the 75's turn faster but get more unstable at higher speeds.

The 90's get unstable at higher speeds.

I'd get the 90s

you somewhat limit yourself with 75's

99cm is the unnofficial perfect size

90cm line five-o's here.

Ride all mountain and park as well as I need. Turn like a dream and are stable.

Don't hit much powder so can't comment in that respect, but that length isn't perfect for powder.

Basically, if you're going to be hitting powder, go longer.

Hi all,

The past two years I've used Salomon Snowblades during my trips and got turned onto Skiboards by doing research on the internet. I don't have a great deal of experience on smaller boards. I've read a lot about Skiboards the last couple of months and purchased some Snowjam 90's and Rossi Soft 3's for my trip to Tahoe in January.

I'm 5'11" - 170 lbs and a little concerned about the lenght after reading some posts. I'm really stoked about our trip this year - this will be the first time I've been on Skiboards. My friend bought Normad 99's as well. Any feedback would be great. Love this forum.

You'll be fine.

Don't get so caught up in the rider weight / length of board issue. Just enjoy!

I'm a big lad, and have no problems safety wise riding 90's. Years ago the only choice was sub 100cm boards.

Yeah, the length is all about preference and getting the absolute best performance out of your boards. For a long time, everyone rode boards that were shorter than the 90's. I know some people who still will not ride anything but their 90's because they just like the feel of the shorter boards better.

ok so i cant make up my mind.
So some insight would be nice
I was lookin at the 90's and 75 snowjams but would Revel8 2007 Tansho 90cm Skiboards be better? Also, since this board is more expensive would the Groove X1 bindings be ok? cause i couldnt afford any other bindings if i got these boards. Also, about the boots what is a good boot with that walk/ski feature that helps with jumps?

the raichle / deeluxe have the best flex out of any boot i've seen.

if you can't afford those try those soft boots i think sbol just got some in.

and those bindings will be ok if you're just starting out, you can always upgrade later. I would spend the extra bucks on the revel8's defintiely.

Don't use the Groove X-1 bindings on any skiboard-they don't clamp well and their toe clip scratches boots easily. My first years on skiboards were with this binding. The difference in riding with this binding and the ones now offered by SBOL are worlds apart.

If you want an economical choice, the better option would be either of the Snowjam line of bindings, namely the Quickadjust or the Extreme 2 (formerly Vissere AX-1)

Yeah, if you have the choice between top of the line boards and top of the line bindings, I would say go with the bindings. I learned on Old Canon H-Series (the three blue stripe ones) and Groove X-1s, and it was alright, but even the change from those to the canon Thias bindings made a huge difference. If you have enough, I would say try to get the SnowJam 90's with Line or Bomber bindings. I view this as a nicer setup than the Tansho's with X-1's. I ride the Deeluxe's, but they are a bit on the pricey side, so if you want cheaper boots, I have heard nothing but good things about the soft lights.

Granted I'm 5'2" and all, so I may be somewhat biased...
I got the Tanshos recently and they rock my world. So maneuverable and all that jazz. A little less solid feeling than my Nomads, but somehow more playful. Back in the day I had some really short Grooves with some kind of annoying Girly graphics. If anyone can figure out what they were I'd be all kinds of stoked. I think they were sub-75, but I haven't been able to find them anywhere online.
After trying the BFs ALPs, I would have to say that the sub-90cm boards are great for utter freedom on the mountain. You don't have to think about turning. It just happens. It's really quite lovely. Granted it's not as fast as the longer boards, and powder performance is lacking, but as a confessed figure/inline skater, it's the most fun way to get down a mountain that happens to be groomed.

Don't know if this will help for sure, but this (http://www.skiboardmagazine.com/data/datagroove.html) might help you figure out what they were.

Groove Grylz. They were 82cm. SBOL sold them the first year we were in business, back in '98-99

hmm just noticed this.. on the 90cm revel8 board they dont offer the x2 bindings. Is there a reason for this? And would those bindings be good?
