How come the tansho's are compared alot lower than the rest of the revel8 boards on the comparison chart. How do they ride compared to the snowjams and the other revel8 boards? (if anyone has ridden most of em) Thanks.

The chart is by length, not ranking. So the Tanshos are so close to the bottom because there is only one other 90cm skiboard that SBOL carries, and only one shorter board.

i know that, but i mean performance wise. It seems a lot different than the rest of the revolt8 boards.

the lenght makes all the difference.

the chart doesnt really take into acount rider size, someone who is the right size for a tansho might stuggle a bit on a longer board like the ALPs.

For me, the boards work great. Posted a review in the reviews section.

Just curious, how tall are you guys riding the Tansho 90cm? I am 5'4", 148lbs and currently ride the Canon M7 99cm for the past 4 years and am ready to upgrade to theee best for me. I am considering the Revel8 90cm or the BWP 98cm and even a little longer, the KTP 101cm but wanna stay wide and not too long, the 101 might be too long for me. not sure.

im 5'8'', 150 lbs i rode tanshos last year and now im on BWPs this season.

they both feel very similar, similar characteristics, turning radius ect.
basically the BWPs will be more stable, but will ride a lot like the tanshos.

Thanks for that info. I am still trying to decide. I really like to carve, shoulder to ground, but would like to blow the monkey snowboarders away in the parks :-) but I do need and want stability and... I really like spinning down a slope big time!

read some reviews in the forum.

skiboardmagazine.com also reviewed both the tanshos and the BWPs, check taht out too, might help you make your decision.

The Tanshos are definatly underated.

I am am 200lbs 6'0 and love riding the tanshos. They are small, manuvarable, and feel like an inline.

If you liked the 99cm then i wouldnt go higher then that. The tanshos are a great choice, and are all around fun.

I also ride BWPs - very similiar with a little more surface.

Yeah I agree with Manlenium; the Tanshos are not going to sacrifice much performance but will get that more skate-like feel. Personally, though, I think the BWPs are a good mix between the longer boards like the Revolts and shorter boards like the Tanshos.

I forgot where I saw the picture, but I remember one that showed the ktp and M7 side by side, and the ktp's were actually shorter if I'm not mistaken. The M7's and Line MNP's were both really long and the 99cm was measured in a way that allowed them to make the boards longer. That's part of what made them perform so well.

Yep, at least the Mike Nick Pros were measured tip to tip after bending ... heres the side by side:

Its measured before curves are put in, is it not?? Thats what the length of the board actually is. 101 pulls under 100 when the curves are there.

When you see the other garbage on the hills, you realize what the tips are for...:p

dang loking at that picture actually makes my M7's look alot skinier.. those KTP's look sweet thouh but I don't need em that wide. he BWP's are very close to the M7's, sooo that wouldn't be much of a difference. The Revolts, though longer, sure do have the good reviews and people saaaaay they don't feel longer than their 99cm's... I duno. Wish I could just go buy the Tansho's, Revolts and KTP's!!!! he I'd be set for life! LOL!
I do feel you might be right about the Tansho's being underrated, although I have nothig but good stuff about them, but the Revolts or BWP's or even the KTP's seem to get the votes.
Hey, what about even smaller, 75cm's??? I'd probably feel ery unstable until I got used to them, but I know those are the ones for doing the grounds tricks on, I was able to try just a few on my M7's, and totally felt like I could not even do the heel ride nd certainly not toe ride!

I found the 90cm to be small/fun. Something 15cm smaller scares me. Great for a try, but the stabilty on bigger feet would be very loose. You have to be a little shorter and lighter to get away with those things.

ya know something, I really think if it wasn't for the graphics on the new BWP's I think those are closer to what I am looking for I think. I have a feeling the Tansho's will feel unstable for me. I did try my brothers SnowJam 90's with similar specs and I didn't feel as comfortable on them as I did my M7's. but you kind of get used to riding your own stuff and someone else's just does't fit right.
Maybe I can find a no very used first graphic bwp design... yeah right, like I'm gonna find that. Oh well. I like the Tansho graphics and City but the City at 105cm is not what I need, but I may end up going for it, they have wonderful reviews.
I am pretty set with non release ables but If I start to really hit the parks, then maybe I should do releaseables?
KTP, too wide and don't wanna break a leg. The BWP's seem pretty good, might still have to work em getting through powder & crud though. Revolts City... I should get those for my hubby who needs a new pair too!!!!! They are perfect for him, that way I can try em too!! hmmmmm, good idea-see us girls are always thinking!

Most people into park go the other way and ride non-release so that you don't risk have your board pop off on a rail or on a landing.

Like i said before. If you ride within your limits.....a non release will suit you fine with the KTPs.

Once you want to push more....the non-release will be there so you can push yourself and your boards. I came from a release to non release and never looked back. You can be alot more agressive in style/riding.
