Skiboards chipping on the edges?

I have Snowjam 99tt's and i carve hard and hit jumps. Ive noticed that my edges on top are chipping off is this usual?

Yeah, it happens.

I touch up the damage by filing off the rough edges and coating the area with clear automotive touch up paint (nail polish dispenser style) just to prevent mosture from entering.
