The dilemma: I must decide whether to purchase the Fischer XXL's or the Canon M7's within the next week to ten days. An impending trip to Taos has forced this deadline. I would like to use the Spruce Mountain Riser binding with whichever board I choose.

One one hand, I'm concerned about the reports of Canon boards delaminating. On the other hand, I'm concerned that Fischer may stop producing skiboards altogether and therefore offer no support in the future.

If anyone has strong feelings about either board, or any other insight, please respond. Thank you.

I would say the M7's and I think most people here would agree. One, they use the 4 hole pattern which is so much superior to the 8. Two, there is no delaminating issue. I've heard only one report of the M7's delaminating and that is from Alex who's is a high performance rider who spends most of his time on rails. Riding rails will cause problems with skis or skiboards, it's very tough on them. that said, Canon still stood behind their boards and sent him a replacement. I've been riding the new M7's all season without any problems. They are great boards with a great design.

greco's got a point here, BUT... on the otherhand i wouldn't mind having a test pilot (oumed!) who could coment on xxl's - i've never heard a review of those

It's confirmed. Fisher will not be selling skiboards in North America next year. I know this because I sent an e-mail to Fisher for my site(www.skiboardreview.com) and this person just replied that he thanked us for the interest but they would not be in the skiboarding industry next season. So for your question, either would be a great choice, but the M7's are all around great and in my opinion offer the greatest customer support on the net(after SBOL of course;) )If there is something wrong with your boards e-mail Tibor, and you'll ahve an answer by tommorow...no questions about it the M7's...and purchase them from SBOL, so your guaranteed the best customes service ever from both parties.

Not to confuse matters further, but what about the BG Pro's? I believe their dimensions are more like the XXL's. I'm curious also since I am thinking about buying a second pair of boards to compliment my Line MN Pros. (I'm more of a mountain rider than a park rider.)

Well, I went with the Fischer XXL's and Spruce Mountain Riser setup. They're in the shop right now for a wax job and binding adjustment. I'll take them to Taos next week and let everyone know how it went. There should be plenty of challenging terrain at Taos to give them a good workout.
