I'll start by saying I was really impressed with the base graphics on these. Great design and colors.

They came with some wax on them but of course I went ahead and waxed them, twice with swix all temp wax ( the blue stuff )

I could NOT BELEIVE HOW FAST THESE BASES ARE when properly waxed. I came off the summitt lift at butternut and I just kept sliding and sliding, even uphill they just kept on going.

But how were they on the rails, you're wondering ? excellent.

I was initially concerned about the stability on some big airs but I even overshot a couple landing zones and had no problems.

Got a few more stares then usual, I would then remark to the starer " weird, huh ? " and they just stand there with their mouth open not knowing what to say.

So If you're on the fence about either getting the EMP or the BWP, I'd say if you're more inclined for heaving powder bashing action get the EMPS, and If you like rails and terrain parks more get the BWP, but they both excel in either area.

The Ben Wannamaker Pro Pro model review. Mark, did you forget what BWP stands for? Ben Wannamaker Pro . I'm just kidding, but I had to take the opportunity. Anyway, how do the BWPs compare to the EMPs as far as rails are concerned. Did you notice a big difference? My friend is thinking about buying them, and I want to make sure I steer him in the right direction. He's more into park than me, so I figured these wouldn't be a bad choice. Plus he loves the graphics.

oh, duh! lol thanks donut.

If he is really into rails I would suggest the BWPs because I feels like the flex on both boards is the same but since the bwp is shorter you notice it less.

it doesnt matter to me but everyone else tells me stiffer boards are better on rails. I've hit some sketchy rails on

ramen noodleish mike nick pros without a problem so,

who knows. tell him to get the bwp.

Thanks for the review dude! I'm glad you dig em! To bad it's my haggard mug on the base though! hahaha... should have put someone pretty like prince william or rhianna on em... damn... next time!

The Bdubs are the jib-focused shredders decks. Ethan is a jumper, adam is a powder hound. They are all great for freeriding and can hold an edge like a dream! Thanks for the review!

amen. I really like the new revel 8s in that each board has its own unique characteristic

im 5'7'' so i may get bwps because of my height instead of emps.

im the exact same situation as you. im 5'7" 135lb. i was thinking about getting emps cause i dont hit the park very often, but i would feel much more comfortable on a shorter board.

Mark

if you dont hit the park that often i would get the emps for that extra flotation, they arent they that much bigger, and are a bit more stable at high speeds

I am going to be buying the EMPs this week for some better flotation in powder.

I am 5'8" and have been please with my 90s except for the poor perfomance in deep powder.

I am really really looking forward to my new boards!!!

It seems like you're riding so high on the line bindings. My extreme II's are closer to the ground; what's the difference in feel, if any?

dan ive rode extensively in bombers and the FF pros and both of them place your feet at nearly ( within a few thousanths of an inch) the same level. the higher up your feet are the more leverage you have for carving and turning and all that.

my bombers have removable risers which are nice if you;re just bombing runs all day.

but if youre just hitting rails all day you dont really need the risers and being closer to the boards you " feel " the snow more.

Maybe I'm paranoid; it justs looks a lot farther. Don't get me wrong, I'd still much rather have FF pros, but I like my snowjams as far as value.

I guess I'm paranoid; I'm sure I wouldn't be the first of the sport.

Amazing=Revel8. One of the few truths in life. You can always trust that something will change, that North Carolina will dominate Duke, and that Revel8 will be superior.

Just tried out my new BWP 98s on Sunday night.

Was expecting them to be a little faster than my Snowjam 90s but WOW, was surprised at just how much difference they made, these are fast boards. They held on the hard thin stuff a lot better and generally more stable, which was reassuring at the higher speeds.
They were just as easy to manoever as the SJ 90s and I found spinning easier. I think the BWPs are no heavier than SJ 90s, they may even be a tad lighter.

Haven't tried any park riding yet, except a small kicker, which I did better on than previously with snowjams, more stable landings and was able to get a bit more lift. I'm in a dilema of not wanting to damage my nice shiny new boards (they look great!!!), but at the same time want to fully benefit from these 'designed-for-park' boards.

I might try using the SJ 90s (already looking well used) for rails until I really get the hang of it and am still more accident/damage prone and then switch up to the BWPs, or would I progress better by learning on the BWPs?

Anyway, either way I'm so glad I forked out for the BWPs, they are awesome, can't wait to get 'em out of the snowdome and onto some real powder next winter.

Good job Ben & Greco :D

Im jealous................I ordered a pair for sale pursposes and wont official get on them until sometime in Sept-Nov. weather permitting. By that time i should have some bombers in them if they are in stock for more then 3 days.

My old EMPs are going to be my danger boards when i just hit stuff and hope for a good landing.

the graphics are already finalized and off to the manufact. I'm creative director for a majority of the boards in the most extensive and wide ranging line of skiboards EVER produced, so expect some wildfaroutshit.

As for my graphic, I will wait till greco unleashes the entire for everyone to see as a whole before i give you any teasers but i can give you some background as to where it came from to wet your lips a little.

I enlisted the help of 3 montreal arts painting and big canvas artists to take care of 3 graphics this year... I wanted peices of work that are completely uncontainable in the size and perimeters of a regular skiboard shape. Its an interesting dichotomy.. I'm sure you'll be able to tell which of the line I and my artists were apart of. The Revolt(A), the BWP and the ......? were all taken care of by me, though I was consulted on the rest...

The process that brought out the final graphic on the BWP 08 came from an intentional constriction, fasting for 4 days together we talked for about the state of it all;breaking the third wall, cliche, disease, colony collapse disorder, locusts, hope, emancipation and subjective objectification. In the end we had my graphic and I've never been so pleased... I invite you to critisize, and mull over its significances and insignificanes as I enjoyed the opportunity to produce the potentials for a discussion of the greater good, fate, life among a demographic that may otherwise not hear it come up from a peer or someone with the same interests as them. It's all about relateability. Oh yea, and the boards themselves aren't half bad either

Hopefully I pulled something from out there in close,

enjoy
