I am going to Copper Mtn, CO on Feb 15-18. I've never been there before. If you're going to be there, let me know. Also, if you have already been there, give me some pointers about which runs are better than others, etc. Peace.

I went there last year and am going again on the 21st.. If u get a chance skiing in the back bowls is a unique experience for someone who is used to midwest skiing like myself. Other then that I tended to stay on the left side of the mountain (as you look at the mountain) because it was far less busy

There are really 3 different "mtns" if you will.

Center Village area has greens/blues with access to blacks. You can access most stuff from here as well ... terrain parks, etc.

East Village is mostly black and blue.

Union Creek (westside) doesn't really have any beginner stuff either ...

The Back Bowl can be fun is well if that is up your alley.

Copper has a lot to offer ... a wide variety of terrain for sure.

cool... thanks for the info. I was looking at the trail map today. I guess I'll just have to go and see for myself.
I see you live in winter park, cool. I was just there this summer mountain biking, nice place. All the locals looked like stoners, lol, go figure.

i work at winter park resort ... I work for the company that runs winter park and owns copper.

Half of my job duties are for copper as well so I am there quite a bit. I will be there next Tuesday as a matter of fact.

We are due to get snow a lot snow this week ... yay for you eh?

Speaking of mountain biking ... Crankworx Colorado (which is a qualifier for Crankworx at Whistler) will be at WP this summer.

One thing about Copper to be aware of.. the elevation. The base is at a higher elevation that most mountains, so the peak is even higher, so drink lots and lots of water one week prior to the trip, it'll help reduce the effects of altitude sickness.

When you are facing the mountain, everything on the right side are greens, everything in the middle are greens/blues, and everyone of the left side are blacks/double blacks. The backbowl is great, and if you are really adventuresome, Copper offers a free CAT ride to the peak where you can skiboard your way down.

If you are staying at Copper, they have free ski valet service for all staying in the area, plus they have free buses to other towns for those who want to go shopping.

They have a halfpipe right down the middle of the mountain, and they also have a boardercross trail near their terrain park, which is also in the middle of the mountain.

there are actually 2 pipes.

the terrain parks accessed from Center Village are cool with some neat features like picnic tables, etc.

I'm heading out to Colorado tonight. I will be at either Copper or maybe Breckenridge Wed and Thurs, and possibly Friday. If anyone is going to be there it would be great to meet up. Ill mainly be riding the black diamonds and the back bowls at copper with my brother. I have EMPS and my brother is on Tanshos.
