This is true for two reasons. One, skiboards dont allow you to get twisted up as easily. Two, less idiots ride skiboards.

I wonder where can you get the real numbers of this study. I deal with numbers all the time, and would be interesting to see the ration of number of skiers/snowboarders/skiboards vs. number of injuries. If they are comparing total injuries vs. injuries per type of snow sport, then the numbers can be skewed. If they are able to get a percentage of skiboarders vs. injuries on skiboards, then it would be a more accurate number.
