Ok I'm not an expert on the subject of skiboarding, but I'm new and it never hurts to add valid content. The Mods appreciate it.

So....

I rode my Line Fly 90's today. First time ever on skiboards. I have intermediate experience on ski's. I rode the double diamonds before, but am no expert. Very comfortable with blues, will take on diamonds.

I'll just tell you about my experience. Mod if I'm in the wrong area, please feel free to move post.

My boots were Soft light 3's. BTW excellent boots. I love 'em. Def recommended.

As soon as I strapped on, I felt free and not bogged down by the weight and length of skis. Started on the bunny hill, as I was with a first time skiier, my girl, and my boy, who hasn't boarded in years.

I don't even know what to write cause I have so much more to learn, but I will say that things I do on skis felt so much more natural on these boards. Don't know if this makes sense, but not as much worrying/thought processing as skis. Shins down, don't cross tips, lean forward, commit now or pay later. That didn't apply. I could focus more on enjoying the ride and evolving.

They were a little less stable than skis at high speeds, but the conditions were crappy. Alot of sludge and wind gusts slowed me down alot. Because of that fact, I couldn't get much speed on the half-pipe, so no air there, but I was not at all intimidated.

I did things I've never done on skis and it wasn't hard. Not to say the sport is easy because I do have some experience, but I'm now a bona fide skiboarder.

I'll be upgrading equip for next season, but to anyone interested in getting into the sport, I wouldn't say these line fly's were a bad buy. I might purchase something a lil longer, but we'll see.

Bindings released only once, even though they're non-release, and it was a bit tough to get them back on on the side of the mtn.

Even hit the terrain park a bit. Jumps are easier to execute as your legs are lighter, and you can get those knees up to your chest to prepare for the landing. No holds though guys. Still amazed I can jump freely. Maybe next trip...

Speaking of that, I'll be going back next thurs. and won't have the newbies to slow me down. Goin straight to the blue trails, and may even tackle some diamonds. Those moguls look so much less intimidating. Don't know if that's correct english, but so what...

I WENT SKI BOARDING AND I LOVE IT!!!

Welcome to skiboarding. Tighten up those bindings 'cause you're in for a long, extremely fulfilling ride...

Well with these 8 hole bindings there's only room for so much adjustment/tightening.

You have to slide a piece of plastic in the middle out and adjust the binding size by pre determined increments.

Trust. They deserved to come off in this bail. I was tryin to pull a 360, and bit it hard. lol

MAd Fun!!!!!

I'll tell you one thing I learned from this site.

It felt good to see cat's with snowblades and know the difference, and that I wasn't ridin those!!!

Any comments/suggestions welcome. Even flame me if I can learn something.

good write up, man. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! I don't think you'll have to worry about flaming with a nice, honest write up like that. Those were your experiences, and that's that. :)

Your bindings still shouldn't release though, even if it was a hard fall. I would suspect they would break before releasing, but then again, I dont have much experience on them either.

Have fun!

maybe they weren't tight enough. Any experts care to interject???

I had a snowblade binding release on me once, and if I'm remembering correctly the Line's use snowblade bindings. I think they're just not as secure and positive as other bindings. That's just from my limited experience though. I've wiped out pretty hard with my SnowJame Extreme II's and never had them give at all.
