The Store is OPEN!!!

Skiboard Stuff Store (http://www.cafepress.com/skiboardstuff)

===Original Post===

alright folks here's how this works... you just need to reply to this thread or PM me with;

Which design you want: 1-6
What size: x-small - XXXL
What type: T-shirt, long sleeve, hoodie, wife beater, etc...
What color shirt: White, heather grey, black, etc.

I will be having these made at a local screenprinter so to keep costs down I'm hoping to be able to get at least 10 orders for any 1 design before we get them produced... make sense?

with that in mind it could be up to a week or two before these get shipped out to you (still in time for 06/07!)

I'm not solid on the pricing yet - as that will depend on the type of shirt (T, longsleeve, hoodie, etc.) but I should have more info on that later today. I want to keep shirt prices under $20, hoodie prices under $40, and longsleeves should be around $20 also. Of course if I can get them cheaper I will.

let me know...

dude the trick list one is the shit, but i think you need to add a check mark to it or something give it more effect, the fakie would be a good box to check off

I can do that - the idea was that you'd be able to use a permanent marker to check off the tricks you can do as you learn them... I can increase the list with other popular tricks as well.

the backs don't have anything on them but that's fairly easy to change.

I'm not quite sure what I'd want on the back...maybe some kind of SBOL logo...just something that shows or says skiboards for the shirts that don't already say it on the front b/c I like the trick list one but it doesn't specify skiboards at all...

02-23-2007, 10:40 PM
hey thanks for all the positive response - I didn't get a chance to talk to the screenprint shop today, but it's on my list for Monday.

I'm checking with G on adding the SBOL logo/web addy to the back (would likely be middle, between the shoulder blades)... definately want his blessing before using the logo.

I don't do any tricks (yet)... for those of you that do (rob) are there any others you'd like listed? anything skiboard specific?

thanks y'all...

I'll be rocking the #4 myself.:D

3 front, 7 back, medium, blue (1st choice) or heather grey (2nd choice) t-shirt but I'd like it with just the text, not the color stripe

2 front, 8 back, medium, black t-shirt

hang in there guys - I'll be setting up a "cafe press" shop tonight, that way we can open it up to shirts, hats, hoodies, buttons, bags, etc.

and we won't have to pay any ridiculous set-up charges for the screenprinting...

stay tuned!

PS. I'll change rail grind to jibbing, and I'll try to give a more friendly option for #2

black hoodies would be cool to

The trick list hoodie with either an 8 or a roughed up looking R8 on the back would be sweet. The R8 like Greco has as his icon would be perfect. Nice job with the shop.

ok here's the deal - New items in the store using the SBOL logo and the R8 design posted by Kirk S above - check 'em out!

also - the dark shirts do not have printing available on the back, sorry I tried. But there are plenty of white & light colored shirts/hoodies that do have the back designs included.

simple as that

Greco you figure out how to make it so you can sell the shirts on cafe press thrugh your website that way ppl getting some R8 skiboards can Order a R8 shirt to go along with them alough it wouldn't go through sbol so that would be a tough one to work out

I looked into screenprinting here locally also, since I know a couple of shops. I think screenprinting would be best if there was a large order of any one design being produced, then you could get the price down by ordering in bulk... the problem is that our community is still pretty small and getting folks to agree on just one design would take a long time + they'd have to pre-pay unless someone foots the bill upfront and hopes that everyone keeps their word.

I just wanted to get these out and available ASAP so peeps could have them this season... and they'd have tons of options to choose from. Plus CP handles all of the shipping, returns, and customer service... not something I want to deal with. So the extra buck or two is worth it to me personally.

D

harrysiii
02-28-2007, 10:25 AM
so, does that mean that these are iron on, then?

dcox20
02-28-2007, 10:31 AM
no no no - not iron on...

They call it "direct printing"

+++from their site+++

Direct Printing

With Direct Printing, we print direct-to-fabric with no transfers. The result is a matte image that moves with the garment because the ink is actually embedded in the fabric for ultimate wearable comfort. After a few washes, you will notice the great durability of Direct Printing. That means greater image staying power.

The benefits of Direct Printing
Great washability - no fading
No feel of ink on the fabric (the ink is in the fabric)
No cracking
No transfer lines

++++++++++++++++++++++++

I specifically wanted to avoid iron-on or heat transfer type printing because it can crack & yellow over time... plus it usually has that weird stiff feel to it.

harrysiii
02-28-2007, 10:35 AM
sounds cool. yeah, i agree with you about the iron on.

i have a sweatshirt that came from cafe press (i believe) a few years back and it's iron on. that's why i was wondering. it's yellowed and you can see the whole square (around the image) after the first couple washes.

hehe

no bigge. that sounds like a good process.

Kirk S
02-28-2007, 10:35 AM
ya theres a place here were i live that after you order like 12 shirts their 8 bucks a shirt for 1 graphic

and silk screen is way better that iron on

That's our biggest issue with Enurshia. We want only quality goods and we want it to be affordable but with the size of our community it is difficult to move larger quantities. That's why we've been doing limited runs. It’s a little more expensive to produce but we don't sacrifice the quality.

thisisjon
02-28-2007, 11:45 AM
Do you have your own direct image printer, or did you order them to be made.

Ian.cap
02-28-2007, 11:50 AM
Both Jason and I have graphics and design backgrounds and we hope to one day produce these ourselves but right now we have a professional printer. We've looked into producing them ourselves but at this point it is more cost effective to have someone else do it. If more people bought shirts it would be feasible but until our numbers grow it just doesn't make sense.

agreed. and we are in no way trying to compete with, or pull business from, Enurshia. We in different leagues - they are a label and these are just grassroots shirts. I just wanted a quickie shirt/hoodie for this season and thought others would too... having more skiboard specific products can only help the sports' visibility, which should, in turn, allow for higher quality products to come to market.

Honestly I'd love nothing more than to pre-buy 100 shirts and let SBOL sell them - I just don't want to be stuck with 90 of them :D

Ian.cap
02-28-2007, 01:19 PM
It's all good. Competition is healthy! And I agree that more exposure is better.

We are grassroots too. We just want to put it behind a brand with the hope of building something larger. We have much in the works and hopefully the demand will be there.

Kirk S
02-28-2007, 02:00 PM
i have a pretty good idea that there will be a demand for both the Enurshia and the R8 and saying shirts

thisisjon
02-28-2007, 02:13 PM
word. If the gear is quality, everyone will buy it. If its skiboard specific, every skiboarder will go crazy for it.

Greco
02-28-2007, 02:17 PM
sbol has been trying to sell skiboard specific clothing for years and it's really difficult. typically clothing is the slowest selling item. i still have shirts from 1999 in stock. i'm going to start a poll about this in a minute.

on a side note since there have been some requests for a more tame "yes, they're skiboards" shirt I'll work on that tonight... I thought it might be cool if someone posted here what their typical answer is when people ask "what are those?"... I could put the whole paragraph on the shirt - then when folks ask, just point to the shirt and let them read it... or could stick it on the back of the shirt for them to read while they're behind you in the lift line.

put something that defines skiboard, i know thats kindof hard to put a limit on what skiboards are now that they get longer and longer but something like

skiboarding: a snowsport characterized by using two skis generally under 110cm, and uses 4x4 bindings

or

Skiboard= under 110cm, 4x4 binding, twin tip, center stance, symmetrical.

I was thinking something like the second thing you posted...

Skiboards - under 110cm, 4x4 binding, twin tip, center stance, symmetrical. It's like having 2 mini snowboards strapped to your feet, great for all-mountain riding, easy to learn on, great in the park. No poles, no worries.

or

Is your ass sore from your first few days of snowboarding? give skiboards a try and have fun on the mountain TODAY! Most beginners can go from Green to Black runs in the same day, and they hit the parks/rails/jumps within a few days.

great ideas scottie!

I've added quite a few new options to the store - it's getting big... since i'm trying to add each new design to every shirt available so that peeps have options...

check them out - I really like the ones labeled "R8 w/real skiboarders" be sure to look at the backs also.

and I added a "nicer" "yes, they're skiboards" option, but it's only available in the T-shirt variety... unless you want a hoodie then let me know and I'll add it.

That's probably because there is finally a variety of shirts available in a variety of colors and you have the option of suggesting your own ideas. I for one am proud that my idea of the R8 logo is so popular.

i must admit that the force designs are great and now the Enurshia Gear is great and the main reason this stuff picked up this time is because of the growth of the forum and brand name on the products

Hehe ya your not kidding airdounut i love being the one brought it to life

Ian open your PM

It does help this year that there are a whole bunch of Revel8 boards to suit any rider. The Revolts were great boards from what I hear, but there really wasn't a lot of lenght variation from Revel8. Now G's getting I wider customer base (I would think).

Hey Kirk - how's that shirt feel? nice weight? hows the print?

thanks,
D

Its pretty nice

Weigth is good
I can wear a medium in most shirts if i want and i also wear lage alot to, so i ordered a large to fit over a couple layers of shirts,
and the lagre fits me perfect BUT if you do order a shirt definatly get the size up i would cuz if i would have got a medium it would have been skin tight

the quality of the print isn't bad it very clear it just looks like they need to screen it again and get alittle more ink on it

Over all its worth the money
