Ive been riding for a while, and my bindings are adjusted fine. But what exactly is DIN? Everyone talks about it, but how do I know the DIN number and what not.

do you use release bindings? DIN only applies to release bindings. it's an internationally agreed scale. The DIN scale assures that bindings worldwide release under the same force. Different bindings have different DIN ranges. the higher the number the more force is required for the binding to release. when you buy spruce risers/bindings (http://www.skiboardsonline.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=spruce_bindings) they come with instructions and a chart to calculate what your DIN should be or you can bring them to a ski shop. they usually will set them up for free.

My brother is getting a pair of spruce 120s with risers, so I was just curious as to what it was.

I think you mean release?
Jon:
As G stated, the Spruce risers comes with excellent instructions. Your brother is going to love the 120's.
