Guys,

I'm a 1 week skiboarding "veteran" ;) from the UK. I'm not lucky (or rich) enough to skiboard for more than a week or two a year and now it's time to put my skiboards away until next winter.

My question is, is there any particular way I should store them for the winter so that they're not green and moldy when I get them out next winter?

Should I strip off the wax? Get them waxed now or wait until just before I go? Leave them in their bag or let them breath etc?

Cheers!

remove the bindings and put them in a cool dry place. id leave the wax on and then strip it next season.

What's the risk of leaving the bindings on? Do they just discolor; that's what happened to my snowboard and It's not big deal. Or is it possible to get water trapped under there and ruin the boards?

I don't know. someone said to do it and it only takes a few moments so i saw no reason not to do it. and i'd put them in a closet, not the garage. DRY place. lol

the most important thing is to dry everything off throughly. i would hot wax them so the bases don't dry out and then rub mineral, olive or any other light oil on the edges so they don't rust. store them in a dry place with low humidity. then start marking the days off the calendar.

Ok cool. I'll pull the bindings, wipe down then oil up the edges. I'll stash them in the spare room......

......but not just yet. Gonna hit the Snowdome in Milton Keynes middle of April. Just can't wait until next winter! :)
