Hey Guys,

I wanted to write and thank everyone as I asked for beginners tips a few weeks ago. This weekend I went out Sat and Sun and gave each morning to skiboarding. It was a powder weekend so I had to get off the bunnies and snowboard in the afternoon. Anyway, on Sat morning I forked out the bucks and got a private lesson. Best $60 I've spent in a long time. Within 10 minutes I was on the bunnies being a total goofball. Within the hour I had all the skills I needed and was still a total goofball. By lunch I was effectively parallel (hockey style) stopping and working on parallel turning down the whole bunny. That was all for day 1. Sun started with a few goofy warm up runs but within the first hour I was off the true bunnies and on longer green runs. That is where I stayed. I enjoyed the longer green runs and just tried to build skills. For some reason my right leg feels a bit "lazy". It drags when I perform a right turn unless I'm carrying speed and forced to commit. Then everything is fine. Anyway, I'm totally hooked and skiboarding is very easy to learn. Although I've read some things that essentially implied that by day 2 everyone is burning down reds and heading off to the blacks and diamonds. Not my experience but I'm an avid snowboarder who has never skied a day so maybe I'm a little behing the normal learning curve. Plus, I'm the type that insists on "burning in" new skills. In other words I move slow in the beginning. So, to sum up, I'm going out next weekend with my skiboards only and am totally onboard as it were. Skiboarding just may be my new addiction. Boy, my wife is going to love to hear that - actually, my kids won't batt an eyelash. Anything that gets them to the slopes ya' know. Thanks all!

Everyone moves at their own pace I'm sure. I didn't hit diamonds until my fourth or fifth day. I think those statements were meant as hyperbole to stress how easy skiboards are to learn.

Glad you're enjoying yourself. This was my first season on skiboards, and I had a blast. Keep honing your skills and you'll be tearing up any trail you want soon enough.

Well done man, I'm in the same position-spent my first week on greens and blues, although did some hard blues at the end.

IT's all about having fun at whatever pace you wanna go.

Thanks guys. This weekend is out for me. I just had 3 little kittens go into heat on me so need to get them to the vets for "the operation". We have 6 cats. No We're not retarded. 3 kids. 2 years ago they came home with a box of furry little cuties and about 5 months ago came back from the park with a different box. What can you do when 6 eyes that you love are begging you to keep them. I'm a pushover. I know that's not ski boarding but needed to let it out so I won't hate the kittens for keeping me off the slopes this weekend. I'll be out next. Thanks guys
