Has anybody ever gone from Skiboards to Regular Skis? I went right into skiboards and never tried regular skis. So, I was wondering if anyone has gone from skiboards to regular skis. Is it easier transition or easier learning curve then starting out from scratch? Could you be hitting up the diamonds in no time (first time out on them)?

ya man when i first started 3 years ago i was just skiboarding never skied but now i can do 3's and 5's on 184's without trying its so much easyer to land on a big ski just not as fun i think but its just about the same movements only thing that gets me are the poles i still dont know what to do with them

Yeah I was thinking it wouldn't be too hard to learn because skiboarding is the same basic techniques as regular skis just a lot shorter. So you had no problem with the tips crossing? That is my only concern about trying them. And does the length of the regular ski bother you at first? The thing is I know I am good with the skiboards so I don't want to look like a fool with the regular skis. I guess this would be a good thing to try at the beginning of the season when the snow sucks and everyone else is working the cob webs out too. Keep the thoughts and suggestions coming.

I actually skied for over 7 years now and I made the switch to skiboards gradually from year to year until thsi season I bought myself a pair of boards instead of always rented them...and they are the best thing to ever happen since snow.

they do kid of cross up sometimes but i went from 140 then 150 and so on to 184 its easyer for me tho cos i work in a rental shop and i use the demos for free but the first time i went out on skis last year i used 168s and did ok on them but i think for me the best size would be a 110 or 120 all the tail for the pipe and still have the skiboard feel
i also think its funney when the kids in the park talk shit saying i cant do it on normal skis so i put on the oldest and longest skis i can get and kick there ass

I love the maneuverability of skiboards. The contact surface. The width the weight. Everything about skiboards.
I'm changing over as well to skiing.
I've caved in to them longer thingamajiggies again.
The cross over shouldn't be as hard. Length wise you'll have to get used to again.
I've gone from my 98cm Line pros to 171 Line Twelvesixties.
I guess you can say skiboarding and skiing run in the same bloodlines.
We all be two plankers.
Oh yea....and I have to ski because they really disapprove of me teaching skiing with skiboards. :(
