I went skiboarding on my new Revel 8 Tansho's for the first time at Blue Mt(PA). THIS IS THE BEST BOARD EVER! But when i went to go clean the snow off, I discovered that a little chip of wood came off on the top of my board. :( It was on the edge of the board. Is there anything I can put on the outside edge of the board or on top of the board to prevent this from happening again? For example, with the Big Easy 94's, they have some type of metal piece hugged all around the sides of the head and tip of the board and it has a protective top sheet. It hurt my heart just looking at the beautiful artwork with a little piece missing. Or does this usually happen and I'm just being anal??

this is a very common occurrence with all skiboards and some twintip skis. there are a lot of threads about it here and at newschoolers. the first thing you want to watch for is banging them together on the lift. this is the #1 cause of damage, then it's just a matter of trying to keep the metal edge of one from hitting the top edge of the other . it's a cosmetic problem, as you mentioned, and no need to worry about their structure unless you hit one really good and take a big junk out and expose the core.

I definitely beat up my SnowJams when I first got them. It took a bit of time for me to not knock them together. Now though, I'm pretty good about it; which is good since I'd hate to damage my EMPs that way.
