I have been thinking of getting some releasables so I can enter skier comps. It just makes me mad that I would have to use a product that isnt true skiboard material. Has anyone ridin releasables and if so how do they compare to the non releasables as far as feel.flex and landing?

And do I need a ski boot or can I use my skiboarding boots?
tommy

skiboarding boots? surely there just the same as ski boots or have i completely missed something?

If whatever you use to skiboard are DIN compatible they will work. If you ride using hardshell snowboard boots that don't have the din toe and heel blocks then you'll need new boots.

you guys are probably to young to remember the line transfer boot. essentualy its a hard shell snowboarding boot but it was billed as the first skiboarding boot. I will be getting the rossi soft 3 boot for next season. will that work? if not I might rent a boot just to compete in. cause I guess the only thing thing keeping us out of skier comps is our bindings. so it would be a bummer to have to compete in a non traditional setup but if thats what I have to do than it will be done.

I assumed that's what you were talking about, but I didn't remember everything about it for sure. I'm thinking that with the intec compatible heel and toe that they won't work, but I thought I remembered seeing some Transfers with the DIN blocks, so I couldn't say for sure. Rossi's will work with em, as they are actual ski boots.

The hard shell snowboard boots are unable to be used by releasables.
The softs can be used with releasables.
as far as flex and movement, a riser with the releasables creates more leverage between you and the ground. Feels like you turn a bit sharper with the releasables.
check these out......http://www.upzboots.com/
the boots have removable dins. think those bindings work on skiboards???

Those boots are sick. But they are 400 bucks and $59 for the din attatchment. Thats alot of money but I will have to think if its worth it. Thanks for the link. Did I read that rite that you get a free pair of bindings with the boots? I dont know for sure if they would work on skiboards but it would be fun to mount them and testem out.

I have a set of the Spruce Pro Lights, and I like them. I don't feel any flex difference with the skiboard, except it's a heavier weight with these bindings compared to my Bombers.

Hey Tommy... i sent you a P.M.
- Not sure if you got it. It said your box was full.
I have a few Q's for ya.
Shoot me an email here: twebba (at) gmail (dot) com.
I'll probably take both pairs of these off your hands if you still have them.

Do any of you guys know how I can get in touch with the original poster (tommy) ???
I sent this guy $200 via Paypal ( for both pairs of bindings) back in August and it seems he split with my $$.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt because of International shipping, but 3 months is a bit extreme :( - I'm sure I've been scammed. By the looks of it, some of you guys hang out and I was hoping you could talk him into doing the right thing and either shipping me the bindings or sending me back my funds.
(And yes, I've emailed him about a dozen times, friendly asking him for tracking numbers - he stopped responding middle of Sept.)
Skiboard season is now here and I'm really bummed about this. Can anyone please offer some help?
- Thanks!

Tommy Laker...
is this what happens when people switch from skiboards to twintip skis?
I met Tommy in Italy with Ben, Allz, Marco.. he seemed like a nice enough chap, I can't believe he got off with your cash. I'll PM you the last phone and email I had for him from a couple of years ago.
Good luck,
G

Good luck with that. I hate when people try to scam others that worked hard for their dollar, and just wanted to have some fun on the side.:D

Thanks guys - I appreciate any help I can get. B)
On the subject, since it doesn't look like I'm getting these, can anyone recommend other releasables? Or should I try and track down another set of these?
Thanks again!
Spruce risers are going to be the only way to go for 4-hole mounted releasables, they sell them here one SBOL.

The Risers and Saloman Bindings are a geat substitute for the non releasables. They are rock solid and give a higher stance which equals sharper turn capability/leverage.
