Hi. I had a pair of Line 7 skiboards about 5 years ago and i was really into them but i broke them accidentally while skiboarding and i haven't gone skiboarding/skiing since then so i guess i'm kinda a new rider now.
Anyways, i've decided to go skiing this season and thought i'd try skiboarding again but i'm not sure which pair to get. I'm about 5'8", 120 lbs and I plan to do mostly all mountain stuff.
So what do you guys think i should get?
I'd go BWP, but that's mostly personal preference.

ummmmm BWPS are lighter i think...but i dont know anyone that has a review of both of them yet???(correct me if im wrong) During the season im sure you will find out, since they were available to the US Market.

I heard the japanese boards are surprising heavier. I would recommend the BWPs if you plan on more mountain riding.

actually...i believe someone posted they are of the same weight...or at least an unnoticable amount.

depends what your going to be doing.
if you're going to be riding very aggressivly on rails and softer snow and also fakie a lot go for the BWPs
if your goign to be doing more carving and riding more directionally (not a lot of fakie) than you could go for the inverse
think about the mountains you are going to be riding also, are they mostly groomed trails or are there glades and powder with a nice park. if the latter get the BWPs they are more all mountain boards while the strictlys are more for carving and having fun on groomed runs.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll definitely be using these with non-releasable bindings and maybe i'll get the hard snowboard boots on this site.
I think I'm gonna go with the Strictlys since the hills around me are probably groomed and I'll probably spend more time carving than in the park.
By the way, I saw that the Strictlys now come with AX-1 bindings instead of the Extreme 2s like before. Are these any good? I haven't heard of them before.

i have to say i think the bwp's will carve better then more narrow boards. the tip design of the revel8 boards and the wide width and tight turning radius make for really low, stable carves. they hold an edge like mad. just check out this pic of kirk on a pair of revolts. the more narrow boards will be a bit quicker edge to edge but not better for deep, hip dragging carves. in addition the flex of wood is much nicer for carving then foam.

oh and extreme 2 and ax-1 are the same bindings. some how the snowjam bindings got the name extreme 2 over the years but stamped on the actual bindings it says ax-1

yeah i own a pair of strictly stolas and they are pretty heavy, or at least as heavy as my 105 EMPs, so yes. they'll be heavier.
As far as i can tell they're more suited for park style and fakie. I'd probably go with the BWPs for a more all-mountain ride. But those are out of stock here...

i see so the AX-1 are the same thing as the extreme 2s.
are the stolas the same same as the inverse except with different graphics?
i'm leaning towards the strictlys because they're a little cheaper and i like the graphics more. but that pic you put up is starting to change my mind. i love doing huge carves down the trails.
what do you guys think about line 5-0s? i saw a pair in the buy/sell section and was thinking about getting a pair like that. what style are they good for?
They'd be ok all mountain boards and in the park, they'll be skinnier and shorter than something like the BWP's (or even the strictly's) though, so they'll be less stable and not as good in powder. That and they're at least 5 years old by now, if I'm not mistaken, though they were good boards back then too.

well they certainly seemed to do pretty well at world cup, shinji got 3 golds on them, so its fine by me

honestly, it doesnt matter who won what on which skiboards.
if you're buying skiboards with that in mind, then you making a big mistake.
shinji could have won the world cup on a pair of 90cm salomon snowblades if he wanted to, its more about skill.

The new BWPs will be here soon though, they got moved back because of a manufacturer delay
