Hi, my name's Bill and I'm brand new to this site. I found it by accident when I was researching new boards. I started out about 11 years ago on Salomom Snowblades and progressed up to the 99's when they first came out. I usually get a new pair every few years because I trash them up pretty good, especially during the early part of the season. I even broke one of my bindings last year and had to put the older style flat bindings on the new blades. I was disappointed when I learned that Salomon was no longer making blades but got a real eye opening when I started to read the forums here. I guess that it's right that what you don't know can't hurt ya. I was really surprised to hear all the negative feedback about the blades. I'm looking for a new pair and read lots of reviews and have probably narrowed it down to 2. Either the Summit Custom 110 or the Revel 8 Revolt. I'm 59, and very aggressive on the slopes. I started out with my kid who just turned 23. We both started on Blades but he went to the big skis. I tried them for a couple of days two seasons ago but just couldn't break my snowblade habits. Actually, I decided WHY? should I even want to. Afterall, the name of the game is FUN and I really wasn't having any on the long skis. I'm 5'6" and about 150 pounds. I'm in pretty good shape and would appreciate any information that anyone out there can share. What would be best for me? Thanks. Bill

Both of those boards are pretty nice boards. The main difference is that the Revolts are a little shorter and have more flex to them. That being said, it mostly comes down to a matter of preference. I currently own a pair of EMP's that are identical to the revolts and they ride great. I haven't personally ridden the 110's, but everything I have read says they are good boards as well. You really couldn't go wrong with either, but I have a feeling most people around here will steer you towards the Revolts.

You are one of the many now turning over to the skiboard army....:p Luckily i never got into the snowblades because like you, i came across this site first.
You sound the perfect size for the BWPs or the Allz boards. You sound like you enjoy the post 100s, so why fight it??
I am 6'0 200lbs and love those BWPs. I have last years model and they are great.. They are a great all around boards for rails parking and mountain. This year they are stronger without comprimising anything. I started out on 105's and actually found I liked the shorter length for manuvering. I have a very agressive style as well. The 105s will take you where you need to go and back. Great all around mountain board.
Most of the bindings here will outlast you. The warranties on the board/bindings are great.
You wont have to buy a pair a year with these badboyz, minus paint styles....:p
Hey. That sounds kind of familiar. I am 54, 5'6" 150 lbs and I have the Emp's or "trees" as I guess they are calling them now. Got them last year, second pair of skiboards and I think they are most excellent. I am not sure what would qualify as aggressive but I think I am probably more towards the mellow end of the scale.

Hey Kage. Read your post, it's almost like we are twins. When I said aggressive, I meant that basically I love speed and steeps. Love to carve it up on those long blues too. On the blades, there is not much I don't do. I'd love to try out your trees before I buy a pair. Ever get up to Heavenly? I get a season pass every year so I'm real flexible. Even though everyone on this site says SnowBlades basically suck, I'd like to try something else before I commit to buying something that's not right for me. Regards, Bill
