Despite having my appendix out two and a half weeks before, I decided (somewhat stupidly) to throw caution to the wind and go with a certain other person on these forums to Mt. Baker. I've been wanting to get some 75 cm boards for quite a while, as I remember how much fun my girly Grooves were back in the day. I almost got the Bantams, but decided that I wanted more width and something slightly cheeper. I mounted my Bombers on them for the wonderful overkill of it all.
These boards are fun. That's my verdict. They carve nicely on smoothish stuff and they floated enough to avoid misery (granted, I'm quite small, so YMMV). I hopped off some things, but had to be pretty careful lest I do something bad to my abdomen. Spinning was entertaining. They were reasonably fast, though I wasn't able to put up much of a fight against the one on the Sherpas... Definitely had to pay a lot of attention to the surface lest I launch myself, but that's to be expected on the tiny end of the skiboard spectrum. I'll test them more fully once a bit more recovered. Maybe I'll even manage to learn a bit of park-ish stuff. They seem like they'd be good for such applications. I want to try them on powder just for the funny looks I know that I'll get. I'd definitely put people inexperienced in the ways of skiboarding on them as a nice intro. The Tanshos will continue to get a lot of use, as I like the flex considerably more. The SnowJams are built to take a lot of abuse it would seem. They seem rather stiff for boards of their size.
