Hello all, another new user here. I've skiboarded a couple times on rentals before, can't go back to regular skis now. I'm looking to get my own set of skiboards now, and have been impressed with the community on this forum with talking about pros and cons of boards. I'm 5'7 and 165 lbs, and I'm a pretty casual skier. I go up and down the mountain, don't do many tricks, but I like to be able to spin on a dime. I basically want a solid, long lasting board that can handle all regular mountain conditions from crud to ice to powder.

Anyway, I was looking at the 75 and 90 cm lengths, and was wondering how much of a quality difference there was between Snowjam and Revel8s? Especially between the Tanshos and 90cm Snowjams, those are the ones I'm looking hardest at now. Also reading through the forum to decide if I should go for a longer board instead, like a Revolt.

between SJ and R8, the only good thing about snowjam is the price, SJ are good beginner boards but you'll get easily tired of them after the first months ;)

for the length, i would go for 99 or 105, they're the best all mountain boards

Its really hard to compare revel8 and snowjam. But I will try. Think of revel8 boards as a custom made, hand deigned cannondale road bike that was made in france. Then you have snowjam. A huffy baught at walmart with the plastic pieces that look like shocks but are only for show and will certainly break in one spot or the other befor the riding season is over. Like the gieco commercial that was dramtized for you but I think you get my piont. The quality is very visible in person. If you were to buy the snowjams you might be happy until you came across some one on revel8 boards. then you would have to go and buy another pair . When you could have got the best boards in the biz.

Hey, I had good times with my Huffy as a kid. Rode it for 5 years, rammed it into a moving car once. The Huffy won. =)

Point well taken though, thanks for all the input.

The SnowJams are fine budget boards, but Revel8's are easily a high enough quality to be worth the extra cost.

Thanks for all the input on my thread and others. I'll be packing a set of Revolt Cities up in Tahoe in a few weeks. Any tips on first-time care?

Just got my Cities in and they look and feel gorgeous; can't wait for next week. I managed to muddle through setting the bindings to my boots all right, but I have another ultra-noob question.

I got the snowjam skiboard lock, and I cannot figure out how it works. I can set the combination and all that, but how does it actually LOCK? Do the rings go on the bindings or something? Or do I just loop the wire through the bindings? There doesn't seem to be anywhere else on the lock to attach itself to.

Loop it through the bindings bail/toe.
