Just got some Snowjam 90s, but don't have new boots yet. I plan on using my dad's size 11 Salomon SX91 equipe boots (made in 1987) until I can find some better boots. I've never used the newer style boots so I'm wondering what is the approximate weight of newer boot. The weigh of one SX91 is almost 5 pounds. This seems a bit heavy, but I'm not sure.

Seems like weight isn't that big of an issue to most people because no one list the weight of their boots.
I found the answer, most newer ski boots aren't really any lighter than old rear entry boots, in fact the used nordica boots with the ski/walk lever seem to be a bit heavier than my dad's SX91s.

Older boots are alot heavier then todays boots. I think 5lbs is the "combined" weight of most boots now. They are a heavy piece of equipment though.

I will see if I can't get a more accurate weight because I used my mom' s bathroom scale, which is fairly accurate but might not be very accurate at such a low weight.
I just got back from using the "new" $60 boots and the weigh didn't seem to be a problem, maybe it matters more for the park. All I know is that I had a good time on my snow jams, they spin like crazy.
